Summer Adult Sunday School—In Person and on Zoom! June 6 ‐ July 18

How do we articulate what we believe fluently and in ways that clearly demonstrate our faith to the world? How do we live and move and have our being in ways that embody our deepest Christian commitments? These are the questions that will guide our six‐week adult Sunday School series using the curriculum Testimony: Vocabulary of Faith. Join us in Room 210 or via Zoom at 10:00 a.m. as we explore our faith together! Contact katie.harrington@sardis.org for more information. If you are joining us on Zoom, use the link found in your weekly emails or connect with Meeting ID: 828 4197 6394 and Passcode: Sardis

A Book of My Own – Huge Success

Because of your generosity, Sardis provided five books for every Rama students to take home for summer reading. Volunteers helped place labels in the books saying, “From your friends at Sardis Presbyterian.” Students will select books from lots of wonderful literature selections. Thank you, Sardis, for making this happen!

Our Sardis family thanks Kelly Cruse and Niki and Brady Koesel for serving as liaisons in the Family Success Program of Families Forward Charlotte. As liaisons, they developed one‐on‐one relationships with their families, assisted them in setting personal goals, and helped them navigate the steps necessary to achieve those goals. Are you ready to make an impact? FFC is gearing up for another life‐changing year, and YOU can be a part of it. Informational Zoom meetings are planned, and you may sign up using the link found in your weekly emails.

We are winding down this school year, during which we’ve been blessed to be in‐person since October. We’ve had a successful year despite the challenges we had to face due to the pandemic. Our staff has been steadfast and dedicated to the craft of teaching and caring for our students and school. We want to thank our teachers for making our school, “The Preschool With Heart” and wish them a restful summer. Also, we want to give a huge thank you to our Steering Committee. Their endless support and care for the school 2 The Communicator ~ June 2021 makes the vision possible.

the Presbytery of Charlotte on May 18.

The two arrangements of flowers that grace our Sanctuary for worship services are provided by Roseland Floral Company at a cost of $150 to the donor. The flowers that you purchase may be designated in honor or memory of loved ones, or to mark a special occasion. Summer dates are open! We have Sundays in need of flowers in June, July, and August! If you would like to place flowers in the Sanctuary, please contact Sheila Duyck (sheiladuyck@gmail.com or 704.364.4637).

Summer and Sardis

Les Ingles

I don’t know about you, but I am certainly glad that summer has arrived. I have been looking forward to a more normal summer than last year, especially since the CDC announced that, if we are fully vaccinated against the COVID virus, it is safe to gather in groups without our masks with other fully vaccinated people. This means that we can once again enjoy gathering with our friends, making trips to the beach or the mountains, visiting relatives that we’ve not seen for what seems like ages, or just getting away to relax. Yes, I’m ready to get out and about instead of being cooped up in my house. I am also eager to get back to attending Sunday School and worship services at the church! Now don’t get me wrong, the online worship services have truly been a blessing, and our entire church staff and cadre’ of volunteers have done a phenomenal job of keeping Sardis’ virtual doors open for all of us, but I look forward to being back on campus. Even if some restrictions take longer to be lifted than others, it will be good to be together. As we all start moving to a more “normal” state, please be prayerfully mindful of keeping your pledges and offerings to Sardis up to date. This will help ensure that we can move forward.
