Merhaba! Ben Özge. Guardian’ın hakkında “dünyadaki en iyi ilk 10 sanat ve tasarım okulundan biri” dediği Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design’da Sanat ve Tasarım temel eğitimi aldım. Sonrasında çocukluk hayalimin peşinden koşup Birleşik Krallık’ta “en iyi iletişim okulu” olan Goldsmiths, University of London’da Medya ve İletişim okudum. Filmler de çektim, birkaçı Birleşik Krallık’ta, biri Roma’da, biri de Transilvanya’da festivalde gösterildi. Şimdi buradayım. Psikesinema, Psikeart ve Campaign JR dergilerine yazıyorum. Reklam ajansında stratejistim. Popüler kültür bağımlısıyım, şişme dekorları çok komik buluyorum, tavus kuşlarını çok seviyorum, Polonya posterleri koleksiyonumun olmasını ve Karpuz isimli bir yelkenlimin olmasını hayal ediyorum. Hi there! I'm Özge. I studied Art and Design Foundation Degree in Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, deemed as "one of the ten best Art and Design colleges in the world" by the Guardian. Then I decided to follow my dreams and studied Media and Communications in Goldsmiths, University of London, which is deemed to be the best college in the UK for communication studies. I've done films too, some of which were screened in the UK as well as in Rome and Transylvania. Now I'm back in Turkey. I write for Psikesinema, Psikeart and Campaign JR magazines. I work as a strategic planner in an advertising agency. I am a popular culture addict, I think inflatable objects are quirky and hilarious, I love peacocks and I wish to have a collection of vintage Polish movie posters and a sailing boat named Watermelon.

The Big Smoke
This series is my interpretation of living in London. I focused on how my view of London was distorted by my previous experiences of other places. London for me is naturally too gray and artificially too colourful at the same time. That is why I painted a plastic bubble wrap colourfully and decided to have the photographs black and white in the end. The plastic bubble wrap also blurs the view which expresses how nothing can ever be definitely clear in London, as everything is constantly on the move in such a rapid way that human eye (or mind) cannot comprehend

In Between In-Betweener: Someone who chooses existential insecurity over living a relevant life and belonging, who has lust for mental wandering. Life is a journey, not a destination. We were born and we are all going to die, but in between is ours. We are all in-betweeners. It is not important how you enjoyed your time here or how you missed being there. Because we are always stuck in between. And there is no ship, there is no car, there is no plane That can take us away from in-betweenness In-betweenness is all we have, In-betweenness is where we all belong
