IN T R O


For the Professional Practice module we were required to create a team of 6 people in order to create a studio as well as brand it. We are called Kaleido (scopic) Studios. We are a collective of talented graphic design students whose purpose is to create striking designs whether it be digital or not. Our target market is young adults, like ourselves since this is an audience we can easily relate to and therefore can produce the best designs to satisfy the customer. Targeting this specific audience also allows us to communicate better with them as we may have some of the same ideas in mind.

Due to the numerous skills that our group holds, we have decided to offer a range of services such as: • Web Design • Advert Design • Brochure Design • Design for Print • Leaflets and Flyers • Poster Design • Logo Design • Branding



Our group name Kaleido (scopic) Studios derives from the word kaleidoscope and we chose this name because it is a mix of elements and is multifaceted (has many aspects or features) - this word represents our group very well due to the mix of people we have as well as all the various skills that we all hold. Kaleidoscopes also are mainly made up of triangles as they have connotations of stability - something we want to reflect to our clients, that we are reliable design company.


R E P O RT


Our brand was focused behind producing work that is ‘uncommon’ and we have stated this on our website ‘Graphic Design studios are not uncommon but what we bring to the table is’. Here we are trying to communicate the fact that we will work closely with our clients in order to get to know them and they will get to experience first-hand our culture that is focused on creating the best design for them, but while having fun. It’s important to laugh. Nobody wants to deal with an agency if they’re full of their own importance, clients want to enjoy the experience and it’s up to us to make sure they do. Through this statement we want to show

that we can produce work that is innovative and not like other designs studios. Our methodology is based behind the fact that we understand that each client is unique and thus we provide our services and cater to each client producing something different each time. Initially we had 2 clients that we chose to work with but one fell through as they had asked us to make a design which involved doing coding - which none of our group members were able to do so we had to kindly decline.


When communicating with our other client, at first we found it a bit difficult as we could not physically meet with them due to the Covid-19 lockdown so we used email and video calls, but once we adjusted to this it was easy to gather the information we needed from our client to complete the work. When showing the final outcomes to the client she was very pleased with them and now currently uses the logo on her website. Furthermore, the lockdown also caused other problems such as being unable to continue our group meetings in person but with constant communication through our group chat and creation of a shared google drive,

we did our best to continue as usual so that we could complete all of the work necessary to a high standard. All of our branding is bright and bold featuring the triangles that are in our logo to again reinforce our brand identity. We also used the colours from the logo - tones of red, yellow and blue as they have connotations of determination, positivity and intelligence. Together these primary colours represent body, emotion and harmony.





As a group we worked very well together, giving feedback on each-others work and helping one another out. Although, we did have a small disagreement on the tag line to use (eventually picking ‘Scoping your future’) as all of us had different ideas – once meeting up to have a discussion and share each individuals ideas about this we collaborated our ideas so that we could reach a conclusion and thus, constructed a tag line everyone was pleased with in the end. In the first week of being a studio we assigned roles so that it would make working together easy and so that everyone had a

role in the group. However, some roles overlapped for example, Saroop began making the logo and laid the ground work and then Michael changed the composition of the logo after we all analysed it and decided it needed to be more clearer. Roles were assigned based on what each individual was most confident at and also had the best skills in.
