Seeing Success by Brad Cates For many in the home furnishings industry, running a business throughout the past year has been a bit like assembling a jigsaw puzzle without the benefit of the picture on the box it came in. We had a plan for what 2021 should look like, but exactly how to make all the pieces fit together to achieve what we envisioned for our company was a lot more challenging than any of us could have anticipated. The good news is that all the pieces we have worked so hard to put in place throughout the past 12 months are coming together in sharp focus. We have turned a corner as a company in terms of brand awareness, market penetration, and the new product unveiled at PreMarket was extremely well received. Most surprising for me was not the reactions to our new line extensions, but rather how interested our distribution partners were to see them. Few people, if any, walked into our showroom at PreMarket asking about what was in stock, because thanks to our strong social media and messaging, they already knew. Rather, they wanted to see what is new and next and to be excited again about the business we are all so passionate about.

INSIDE THIS ISSUE: Finish Strong Green Color Story Bringing the Outdoors In

The big takeaway for me from PreMarket, heading into June, was that Sarreid is on the right path, and people can clearly see where we are going. They feel our momentum and understand the ethos of who and what we want to be. They realize that the picture they saw in April will be even more complete in June, and even more so this Fall. And, best of all, they let us know in no uncertain terms they want to be there to see it all come together because they can see how all our puzzle pieces fit perfectly into their own visions for success.

Finish Strong Remember Garanimals? That was the brand of children’s clothing separates launched back in the ‘70s, that made it easy for kids (or busy parents!) to put an outfit together by matching the animal-themed tags on the clothes that let them easily mix and match for a great look. That kind of efficiency, ease and style is inspiring our new line extensions here at Sarreid. While we’d never call anything we do here “matchymatchy,” our goal is to make it easy for designers and retail sales associates to put together winning looks. That is why, as we continue to evolve our product offerings as a whole home resource, we are focused on starting with objects of desire—the kind of singular, signature piece that make a room and which Sarreid has long been known for—and then creating collections that are designed to work beautifully right alongside.

NEW! 53481 Anton Tall Cupboard Oak w/ Whitewash Finish

We believe it all starts with a finish. By working within a signature bandwidth of color tones across our palettes, we are creating finishes that make it easy to work across our product line. Our design team’s goal is that if you love a design from Sarreid that is made in Vietnam, you can trust that it will work with something you love from China, Italy, or India, or anywhere else around the globe where we are working with talented artisans to bring the extraordinary home to you. Check out, for example, our new looks in Whitewash Oak, Cortina White, and Grey and White in our 2021 product portfolio, and plan to finish this year strong! NEW! 53524-1 Lola Commode in Stone Grey

SPRING COLOR STORY: GREEN We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Spring Market next month, and we are taking our cues from the season with an emphasis on being green, from our color palette (sage!) to our use of reclaimed wood in our introductions. Here is a sneak peek at what is coming:

Bring the Outdoors in With a Sunroom If you love being outside but hate the heat (and bugs) you definitely need a sunroom in your life! The main characteristic of a sunroom is the amount of natural light that floods in. If you are lucky enough to already have a room in your house or plan to create one, we have some tips to help design the most inspiring and cozy space. 1. Make it comfy. Sunrooms can become an extension of your living room so you want to make sure you have some comfortable seating. A place you will enjoy curling up with a good book. NEW! 53473 Randolph Wing Chair

2. Keep it Simple. Let the sunlight be the main attraction in this room and keep furnishings simple and casual. A small tray table for magazines and drinks is all you need.

3. Add some green. Adding plants helps to provide an organic feel to the room. A few ferns or a large palm tree in the corner can instantly boost your mood. 4. Make it multipurpose. A sunroom is not just for lounging. This space can be the perfect spot for breakfast or working from home. Add a small bistro table and two chairs to maximize the use of your sunroom.
