ABOUT ME Assorted time freezes from memory;
+
I, as a designer, have always found enormous, ceaseless; Love for design, and love for all forms of design, the fruition of that love is gathered here as memory moments, When I relook the stair soffit junction, for which I had spent hours quarreling with Structural engineers and contractors.
*
When I saw myself exhausted, running inside a warehouse, composing frames for a commercial shoot during summer noon.
+
To see the brick shell house flooded with visitors, for which I spent months following up demolition contractors to source atypical reclaimed materials.
^
*
When I found myself actively inspecting, measuring the precast molds’ accuracy in a precast plant as a Quality control intern.
When I collaborate for competition projects focusing on climate resiliency, advanced construction types, and design challenges include footwear, product design, public space, etc...

Sarvesh + Rajvee Instructor: Wayne Place North Carolina State University M.Arch | IIIrd Sem | 2020 Tall Building Studio
New City There are two major cities near Alameda, and predominantly it has residential use. A new city is proposed in the old US naval base and connected to the east’s existing residential blocks. A new city required new high-speed connectivity with the neighboring cities, San Francisco and Oakland. The new city is expected to maintain its natural quality for the residents. The bay area residents are fond of nature and outdoor activities. Our city design and a tower scheme focused on creating exciting opportunities to connect nature and the city dwellers.

San Francisco
The Alameda lies near two cities; San Franciso and Oakland. With rising residential needs, Alameda City’s proposed city design has taken severe consideration of Nature, Climate change, walking distance, User experience, and economics. The design proposal includes a new high-speed bridge connecting Alameda with neighboring cities, canal networks, and a masterplan for a cluster with a shared economic development plan.

Canal Phase-02
1) Periphery
The City design has focused on including natural elements for a better urban experience and building and maintaining the city. For instance, the Canal network serves multiple purposes like transport, sea-level rise mitigation, Barges to carry heavy building materials, etc.
2) Narrow
3) Opens to water
4) Four sides by buildings

The Wrap
As we observed the natural propensity towards nature and the bay area dwellers’ nature, Our idea was to allow them to experience nature and outdoors in a best and a new dimension.

Loop Details Privacy is a critical parameter in introducing a walking/ running loop on the residential tower. We achieved the desired loop on the tower by strategically organizing the residential units. All the units are uniquely designed to accommodate the intrusion of 10’ wide loop. It created exciting opportunities in the interiors of the residential units. Flight along longer face

Textile Lanterns in a glass container The Raleigh city is known for textile and it has been their major occupation. The industry has faced huge difficulties in the history; it had also evolved into contrasting forms from its beginning. From natural fabric to artificial fabric. These extremities are to be experienced in the craft center. Idea was to explore the methods of using architecture to express and experience the fabric. The Transition elements such as entry portal and staircase are few of the potential points to intensify the experience gradually before ending in the lantern studios on the upper levels.

Solid Box with piercing lights The College of Design extension on the West side of existing COD blocks is conceived as Solid carved out with the spatial void from the existing blocks. To bring light and life to the box several means are incorporated such as Cut outs, light wells and glass floors. This Studio focuses on Pre-Cast construction as the major method, the challenge was to carry the initial ideas of bringing natural light inside the box with all the pre cast construction parameters.

Internet Tutorials Sarvesh North Carolina State University Group Work - 3 no.s 2019
With the limited exposure to the digital architecture spectrum, I explored a little on generative design solutions for my design problems. I truly enjoyed the freedom that these softwares provides and the wonder with the avenues of possibilities it posses for the future.

ACJ STUDENT HOSTEL

Principal Architect: Mahesh R Sarvesh Interns Madras Office for Architects & Designers. Project In-Charge 2017 - 2018
Student Pods Asian college of journalism, for their new course, required a hostel building. The hostel’s site was in a tight urban neighborhood; the design challenge was to make the hostel be converted into serviced apartments. When all these parameters are put in, though there is a hierarchy of common space is provided through the balcony and cutouts, the space for interactions is still insufficient. We resolved it by making the stairwell exclusive for interaction, and we named it the Stair room. At each level, the stair anchors and provides possibilities to interact and not just serving its fundamentals. My role as the project in-charge took me through all phases involved in the AEC industry. From initial tender, construction drawings to site coordination, client, vendors, structural engineers, and contracts coordination. I had the opportunity to design and prototype objects like soap and towel hanger for bathroom and light fixture to make the common areas emphasized during nighttime.

+ CHA COMPANY CAFE

Principal Architect: Mahesh Sarvesh Intern 01 no. Madras Office for Architects & Designers. Project In-Charge 2018-19
Urban common Cha Company, Café. The idea of the project is to design a café that is public at the urban level, the essence of this idea is taken in all levels of architecture. The part of the task was to remodel an existing structure. Roof sloped to responding to the climate, wrapped with metal sheet, Large fenestrations brings in the exterior inside and becomes an urban opening gesture. My role was involves building 3d model and creating iterations for initial design discussions and later refining to material reflection and bump. Tedious process with numerous test renders to visualize close to reality.

Intent The design of cultural centre for sedhiou aims at using limitations of a place as source to create culture, community and social conditions. Our proposal is an outcome in addressing lack of water, lack of skilled craftsmen and lack of resources. To employ the unskilled work force available to excavate a part of land to create an artificial reservoir to store water for the community • •
To use the excavated earth to build foundation, plinth and enclosures To use locally available mangrove sticks as structural member to support corrugated tin sheet roofing.
CONSTRUCTION MANUAL

SET DESIGN JAMAL & LAILA
+ + +
Principal Ar Sarvesh Interns 3 no.s Madras Office for Architects & Designers. Project In-Charge 2019
Curated Chaos Laila and Jamal is an original stage adaptation Manu Joseph’s critically acclaimed novel, Miss Laila, Armed and Dangerous. The stage adaptation is an outcome of non- linear time and place relationships. The play is set in the backdrop of a demolition site. This site then transforms to varied urban landscape through lighting. The intent of the set was to evoke a sense of brutality captured through the concrete debris, yet be playfully curated, to convey multiple arcs of moods that the play takes you through. Project time-line was less than 60 days including design development, cost estimation, prototyping on real scale, artists movement mapping.

+ WALLACE RETAIL SUN STUDY Principal Architect: Mahesh
+ +
Sarvesh Madras Office for Architects & Designers. Internship 2016
Sun | Glass | Retail An attempt to create balance Project Wallace Garden is a retail outlet building, The site is located in one of the major commercial roads in Chennai city. The design challenge is to keep it visible from the abutting roads with a harsh west sun. The ideal condition is to minimize the use of mechanical ventilation and make building use the least energy. Avoiding glass skin on the west becomes impossible in this context due to commercial reason. We then conducted a study on how the other buildings on the road address this issue, the result showed this as a pressing but neglected issue everywhere. Following that, we tried to create the balance by changing the parameters of building elements, such as introducing sun breakers, angular walls, and overhangs in varying scales.
