P4 – Are you Getting Hurt? Ergonomics for Fitness Professionals Presenter: Mike Bracko - Shaw Centre Ergonomic issues and injures affect fitness professionals too. It is important to consider your own ergonomics and injury prevention when performing day-to-day job tasks at your “workstations” in the gym. Bending, lifting, voice projection, moving equipment, assisting clients, taking on clients’ emotions, as a fitness professional, you do all of this day in and day out. After weeks, months and years, these movements can take their toll with chronic or acute injuries. This is especially important for the self-employed fitness professional. If we’re hurt we either don’t work, or we have to work hurt. In this presentation, we will examine how ergonomic risk factors relate to fitness pros and give recommendations for prevention.

But isn’t any kind of exercise a form of cardio training? Resistance training, for instance, could be called cardio because heart rate increases and we burn a lot of calories.
