When you Google the word “mother” you are in for a surprise; while your mind is conjuring scenes of

gentle love and unconditional caring, you find that the first three links are actually retail shops and businesses with that name. And yet, we can’t discover a more fundamental word in our vocabulary. In fact, almost all languages employ the sound ‘m’ for “mom” - maa (Hindi), mama (Chinese), mamma (Italian), maman (French), mutter (German), mama (Quechua American Indian), to mention a few. And as it turns out, it is also the first word that almost all children worldwide utter even before learning to speak. Dr. Pillai has also taught us that the sound “m” allows us to access the fabled midbrain, where infinite powers are stored. But, why do we love our mothers so much? It must be because the pure and unlimited love of a mother is often the very best kind of love that we will ever experience in our lives. And, while we must certainly allow for exceptions, our mother was our first beloved in our childhood. In her arms, we felt perfect, lovable, beautiful and nurtured at a very young age. This kind of motherly love has often been equated to divine, pure love. And we want more of this love because, let’s face it; we all want to be loved unconditionally. And for this reason, there isn’t a better place for finding unbounded love than spirituality. It goes without saying that, as we grow older, we need less caring of the initial kind we can cook our own

food and can function on our own, so we look for more mature forms of love in our friends, our partners, then our children. And in this process, it dawns on us that we, too, are capable of loving others. Of course, even at an adult age, most of us realize that ‘Mom’ is always available for catering to our emotional (and often material) needs. So occasionally, we return to our mothers seeking shelter and comfort. The Divine Mother is also said to be ever available for our pleas and requests to fulfill our desires. Across cultures and time, many pray most fervently to the Great Mother, feeling her compassion and support in times of need. Mother Mary worship, for example, is so widespread that even people from other faiths invoke her in a blend of mysticism, which includes all feminine celestial entities. ‘Jai Maa’ is a common Sanskrit invocation and greeting among Indian devotees that means ‘Victory to the Mother’ implying that the power of the Divine Mother’s true love can conquer anything through creation and destruction, fertility and nurturing and her many other attributes. Additionally, spiritual people everywhere hold the notion that a capacity for unconditional, selfless love towards all beings is one of the highest achievements on the way to self-realization. And who can better embody this kind of love other than the Divine Mother? Even in ancient Egypt, one of the highest positions in society was held by the mother of the queen-spouse of the Pharaoh (who was himself supposed to be an incarnation of God). This signals that motherhood received high praise even within the populations living on the lands of the Nile. At some point in our lives, we have probably marveled at the staggering depth of love as we observed a woman’s radiant smile as she fussed over her ‘unbeautiful’ (in our eyes) disabled child - a powerful reminder that our senses can never convey the infinity and beauty of motherly love. And before this reason alone, we could bow with gratitude to all mothers everywhere. May they be happy, healthy and free, always.

Maitreyi and Karthik Vishwatejas The name ‘Rishis’ brings to our minds the archetypal image of old men, with matted locks and long beards, sitting in forests or caves in deep meditations. Or, we may think of them as characters in our epics, involved in some spiritual activity, but mostly living in seclusion, away from the society. A Rishi is much, much more than any of these characterizations. To understand the Rishis is to understand the possibilities of Human endeavor, the heights that man can touch, the greatness he can achieve. Rishis are truly the pinnacle of human evolution at all levels-physical, astral and spiritual.

Who is a Rishi? A Rishi is a Spiritual Master who has mastered the Spiritual sciences through his long and persistent efforts. He is a person who has experienced God and because of that experience, is able to manifest God’s qualities in his living. A Rishi is the personification of all the Spiritual qualities – Love, surrender, humility, detachment and accommodation. A Rishi’s language is Love. He always radiates Love in his thoughts, words and actions. Whoever comes in contact with him will be touched by this love. The depth of their unconditional love can only be known by experience. A Rishi’s higher experiences make him one of the wisest people in the entire creation. He manifests that wisdom in his living, in his interactions with others and in guiding them. He can understand others and accommodate them completely. He has tremendous patience and expansion. Because of their higher spiritual experiences, the Rishis have access to very rare knowledge and powers that are not available to anyone else. Their wisdom enables them to use these for the welfare of everyone instead of for their individual benefits. Because of their intense love for God, they selflessly serve His creation. The most important criteria that distinguishes a Rishi from other spiritual Beings is that a Rishi can absorb, contain and radiate the higher knowledge, Wisdom and spiritual energies in the form of Light directly.

Incarnations of the Rishis Rishihood is a spiritual state that is attained after the inner awakening, when the seeker chooses to guide others towards their liberation. A Rishi is free from the cycle of birth and death and though he can go back to his source at any time, he chooses to stay back for the benefit of others. Because he has transcended death, he can continue to live in the same body for thousands of years, without ageing, if that is required for his work. In Himalayas and other places, there are innumerable Rishis who’re in deep tapas for eons, gathering and holding special energies. Yet, there are Rishis who choose to give up their bodies at death and take birth again. The reason could vary from one person to another-it could be to take birth on a different earth in another part of creation, or to take birth on this earth itself, in another part of the world, for a different purpose. This choice, like others, will be according to the divine plan. All the Spiritual Masters of mankind like Christ, Plato, Swami Vivekananda, Amara, Max Muller, Ramana, and many others were great Rishis. These spiritual giants have also incarnated as important people throughout history, to advance civilization, to establish kingdoms, to invent and discover a thousand useful things, to reform society and to advance the area of fine arts like art and music. They have taken birth as inventors and scientists like Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin and Albert Einstein to advance the frontiers of science. They have come down as reformers like Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela to serve society and help those in need. As artists, poets, sculptors and musicians like Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Mozart, they have added new dimensions to human culture and finesse. And many times, they have taken birth as ordinary people, not known to many but impacting the lives of those around with their ideal living and personal qualities. At the physical level, these great people may not be aware of their spiritual roots. A Rishi who incarnates in this way, usually connects to the higher realms at a deeper level and brings down very special knowledge in that field, which is relevant to the times. He may not manifest all the qualities of a Rishi in that incarnation, as it may not be required too. So, he will often lead a purposeful but contradicting life of a genius, focused on his work, so that the knowledge of his true identity doesn’t disturb his work.

Rishis are among the highest beings in God’s creation. The direct Wisdom, Energies and Guidance from the Supreme Intelligence Himself gives them tremendous capacities and enables them to carry out unbelievable feats.

Some of their powers are truly breathtaking, which they use only for the execution of God’s work. A few of their capacities are: * Rishis can travel from one universe to another and from one manifestation to another. They can transcend time and space and reach any part of God’s creation. They can even go to the unmanifested part of creation and return. * They bring new knowledge and energies from these places for the beneﬁt of Humanity. Before releasing them to others, they conduct a lot of tests and implement these on themselves and the team of workers under them. After releasing these new energies, they continue to monitor the changes there. * Rishis can communicate with millions at the same time. For example, the Rishi who’s in charge of the works on this earth can communicate with all the people here simultaneously. * They can teleport, bilocate or even multiply themselves into many bodies, depending on the requirement of the work. All the faculties like telepathy, third eye, astral/soul travel and innumerable other Siddhis will be fully operational in them. They use these for the service of others. * Rishis gather a lot of energies over thousands of years of intense Tapas or when they experience God. These energies enable them to create new galaxies and some Masters can even create new Universes. They usually store these energies within themselves and release them at appropriate times, using it for God’s work whenever required. The temple:

It is early morning 4.30. The sun rays are yet to touch the land. The devotees with tuft, in saffron and white attire rush to the temple, unmindful of the drizzle, where the Mangalarti is to begin, with Guru Ashtakam. The gorgeous decoration of Krishna and Radha with four inner shaktis of Krishna on either side - Sri Thunga Vidya, Sri Chitra, Sri Champak Latha, Sri Lalitha, Sri Visaka, Sri Indulekha, Sri Ranga Devi, and Sri Shudh Devi keeps the visitors spellbound. The devotees, with cymbals and dholak accompaniments, sing and dance with easy steps, backwards and sideways. If the music captivates you, the elegant dance movements rivet your attention. The huge hall vibrates with the music and rhythm. After puja to Tulsi Matha, the devotees shift to the adjoining hall where the sanctum sanctorum of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and his prime disciples Nithyananda Prabhu, Advaitacharya, Gadhadhar Pandit and Srivas Thakur is situated. All these five together are called Pancha Tatvas. The evening Dharsan Arti is also crowded but you enjoy the bhajan in a different ambience. The decorations are changed completely. A garland is offered to Srila Prabhupada’s statue, in veneration. The chief priest Jana Niwas Prabhu is from England, settled down here for over forty years. Subhangi Matha, a German lady is living here for nearly the same period. There are many such devotees from several countries who are here for decades. In between the sanctum sanctorum of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Krishna and Radha, is the sannadhi of

Lord Nrisimha Deva, sculpted by a sthapathi from Kumbakonam, according to the guidance of Kanchi Mahaswamigal. There is an interesting story behind the installation of this Ugra Nrisimha. When ISKCON representative met the sthapathi, the latter read a series of versus describing His flame-like mane, His searching glance and his knees bent with one foot forward ready to jump from the pillar. This was the one the representative had in mind and he at once approved it. When the sthapathi approached Paramacharya for his approval, his reply was, “Don’t do it. Your family will be ruined!” When he heard that it was for the Hare Krishna people from Navadwip, he became very concerned. On the way to Mysore, he said, where a ferocious Ugra Narasimha was installed years ago, the worship there had gradually declined and the place had become a ghost town. The whole village was deserted. “Do they want the same Ugra Narasimha for their project?” inquired Mahaswami. “They are very insistent. Apparently they have some problem with dacoits”. Looking at the sketch of the sthapathi, Mahaswami said, “Ah, this is ugra category. But a deity in this particular mood is called Sthanu Narasimha. There are nine forms within this category. They are all fierce. This Sthanu-Nrisimha is stepping out of the pillar. No, don’t carve it. It will not be auspicious for you”. Surprisingly a few days later, Paramacharya himself sent a letter to the sthapathi for some temple renovation work and in a foot note, he had mentioned, “For ISKCON you can carve Sthanu-Narasimha”. But it took months for him to find the right stone and when the deity was carved he left it in a thatched shed. Two days later his neighbours ran to him to say the roof had caught fire, but the sculpture was in tact. He immediately informed ISKCON, “Please come and take your deity. He wants to go NOW”. The astonishing aspect was that the police permit, Central Sales Tax Department’s approval and Archeological Directorate’s nod, all were given within 24 hours! However, what surprises one is the place called ‘Narsimhapalli’ where another temple for Nrisimha is situated. (A ‘Palli’ in Andhra or Tamilnadu is ok. But in West Bengal? You might wonder!) Take the boat to cross the river Ganga and you reach Swarupganj, in ten minutes. Hop on an auto and in about forty minutes you reach the temple on the banks of the river Mandakini. It is said that after killing Hiranyakashipu, the Lord washed his hands in this river. The biggest attraction in the Mayapur campus is the Chandroday Mandir where the Pushpa Samadhi of Srila Prabhupada is housed. The important events in his life in life-like images are displayed with details, to which hundreds of visitors throng to see every day. The travel and tour aspects are looked after by Gopijanavallabh Das. A Tamilian, who had served as an executive in Emirates Airlines in Gulf, Das has settled down here with his wife and a child. His wife is the niece of Damodara Dikshitar and she helps him in his desk work. Extremely cordial and well-versed in Tamil, Bengali and English, he looks after the accommodation, too, in the Ghadha Bhavan or Chakra Bhavan. Visitors have facilities like internet café, telephone and fax, shopping area, etc.

Swami Tamilian from Santhome, Chennai, explains the signiﬁcance of the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. His talk is lucid. “Our main problem is Jananam-Mrithyu-Jara-Vyadhi. You have to be a servant of Bhagwan. By chanting Krishna’s name you become His servant. Give up something inferior and accept something superior!” he says.

Gurukulam: Tucked away from the campus, is the Gurukulam, set amidst the forest. There is no electricity here. Only oil lamps are used. The boys have to cook their food, wash the vessels and clean the place. The atmosphere reminds you of the ancient gurukuls we see in mythological films. The boys are from different countries. The principal is from Czech, now named Preethi Vardan Das. “I came here in 1993. I met a few devotees in Czech and I found them to be happy. I read the whole Bhagavad Gita. When I reached India, I went to Vrindavan first, but the devotees advised me to go over to this place. I understood the meaning of life only after coming here!” We met a student from Russia, re-christened Daneshwar Das. He said he has been learning Vedic Mathematics, English, Sanskrit, Yoga and Mantras. “We get up at 2 a.m. We begin our Japa at 3. At 5.30, we would be in the temple for the Arti. The medium of instruction is English.” In a special puja room, you find the unusual idol of Narasimha emerging out of the broken pillar. This was found from a well in a Tamilnadu town, when Vidyapoorna Chaitanya toured here. “It is more than 800 years old”, said the priest. A regular CBSE school also functions near the complex and the principal Radhakant Das is from Chennai. Only Sathvik food is served for visitors and those who stay in the guest house. Many life-time members from all over the world come here for a stay to refresh and recharge them. The surrounding villagers too hold the japa-mala in one hand and chant Hare Rama-Hare Krishna even while walking! Mayapur is really fascinating and a stay here certainly refreshes you. It is unlike the other ISKCON temples you see in Bangalore, Chennai or Mumbai. Mayapur is an ideal spiritual retreat centre to relax peacefully in a calm and natural atmosphere and enjoy the tranquility of the Holy Dham.

Jacqueline Lord Ganesha is one of my favorite archetypes to call in on a daily basis. He started connecting with me many years ago. He came in so gently and with so much love. It started with chanting his mantra OM GUM GANAPATAYE NAMAHA, 108x for 40 days. I did not own any mala beads so I would write it down on paper each time I chanted. It felt so great chanting this mantra after 40 days, which I decided to do it again for 40 more days. New doors began to open. We moved to a beautiful condo. I began to receive deeksha blessings. I also was doing Ganesha poojas and homas through proxy ceremonies. I then found Swami Ramalinga. Soon after that, I connected with Dr. Pillai’s teachings. New paths began to reveal themselves. Lord Ganesha is the elephant headed archetypal symbol who clears your path, assists you with success and showers his amazing abilities to open all avenues and roads in your life. Whenever you start any new task in your life, chant his mantra 108x times. This will call him in to make sure that the vibration is clear and the energy is aligned and ready for you to start your project or whatever you are doing. His bija mantra;the quantum sound that is just like making phone call to him is Gum; just like chewing gum. Just for your information, there are many mantras for Lord Ganesha. Working with the Gum sound is easy to pronounce and use so that is why I have focused on Gum. Anyone can use this sound and see wonderful results. I wanted to share some amazing Lord Ganesha miracles and all it took was me chanting his mantra, Gum. A few years ago, I shared this sound with my friend. Somehow, she was able to unite an owner with his lost dog through chanting Gum. She told me how amazed she was when she was able to help ﬁnd his dog. Another time, I was attempting to open the doors in my house to the back yard. They were very warped from rain. I began to chant Gum and after only a few times of saying this sound, the door easily and almost eﬀortlessly unlocked. I then chanted again and gently and easily the door closed and was able to lock as well. I was absolutely astounded how smooth the entire process moved while chanting Gum.

Many times I have done my best to open a very tight lid on a jar and I will start to chant. Before I know it, it will open or my husband will come in and ask if I need help. If you cannot find something, chanting his mantra, you will find the item. I have even not known the address of somewhere and I have chanted the mantra, and suddenly I am right in front of where I need to be. Lord Ganesha is truly a miracle maker. Today, if you are in traffic or someone or something gets in your way, simply chant ‘Gum’ and watch his power of making everything smooth swiftly and easily. The English poet William Blake spoke of seeing ‘the world in a grain of sand....and eternity in an hour’. His perception of the world is somewhat similar to perceiving the world in Om and thus in Ganesha himself. Om is symbolically Ganesha himself; as Lambodara, the Big-Bellied One, he contains all universes past and present within him. By reciting this mantra, we affirm our own oneness with the universe – as part of creation, we contain worlds within us.

How does burping come? Burping is created by swallowing of air in to the stomach along with the food or drink, this usually happens while fast eating and drinking. To avoid gas accumulation inside the stomach, our body counteracts immediately and creates burping to expel the gas out. When the gas passes through the esophagus it vibrates the Upper esophageal sphincter (a valve present at the entry of esophagus) and creates a peculiar sound. Usually combination of nitrogen and oxygen air will be expelled while burping. If it comes after drinking soda, soft drinks and other beverages, carbon dioxide will be expelled through the mouth.

What causes unusual burping? If burping is associated with vomiting, acid reďŹ&#x201A;ux, bloating or loss of appetite it may be a warning signal for stomach ulcer, gall bladder stones etc.

Ayurvedic perspective on burping Ayurveda termed burping as Udgaara , an action by which the body eliminates excess vata (air) from the stomach. Ayurveda states that voluntary suppression of natural urges is the primary cause for diseases. One desirous of preventing his/her body from diseases, should not control natural urges such as Burping, thirst, hunger, vomit, ﬂatus, faeces, urination, sneezing, yawning, coughing, heavy breathing after exertion, sleep and seminal discharge.

What will happen if I control Burping? If burping is controlled voluntarily, Vata (air) get blocked inside the body and creates problems like loss of appetite, tremors, feeling of tightness in the heart and chest, ﬂatulence, cough and hiccup.

Can Prayer Satisfy Hunger?

Shanthi Durga Pai Birbal was the minister of Emperor Akbar the great, who ruled India from 1560 to 1605 AD. Apart from possessing a sharp intellect, Birbal was also a devotee of Sri Rama. Wherever Akbar went, he used to take Birbal along with him. During one such official outing, they had to take the route through a dense forest. In the course of the journey, both were exhausted and decided to rest for some time under the shade of a tree. Meanwhile, Akbar felt very hungry, and wanted to look around the place to find a house to get some food. He wanted Birbal to accompany him. But Birbal was in the midst of chanting Lord Rama’s name, and asked to be excused. An irritated Akbar said, “Mere chanting of God’s name will not fetch any food. You have to put in your own efforts”. After saying this agitatedly, Akbar went off. On the way, he spotted a house and knocked on the door. The people in the house were extremely happy to welcome the emperor and treated him with whatever they had. Akbar finished his meal and got some for Birbal too. He met Birbal and gave the food packet and said, “See Birbal I told you. It’s my effort that fetched food for both of us and not the chanting”. Without any response Birbal ate the food that Akbar had brought for him. After he finished the meal, he looked up at Akbar and said, “ I have just experienced the power of Lord Rama’s name. You being the ruler of the land had to beg for food today, while me, a simple man by simply chanting Rama’s name got food without moving even an inch; the emperor himself had brought food for me, that too by begging”. Management moral: You might have a variety of means available to achieve your goals. It is up to you to select the most appropriate one for the occasion and above all, most likely to yield results. Visit to HoPE Learning Centers

Tripura Foundation is Dr. Pillai’s non-proﬁt organization that has several service projects up and running in various counties. He has a great vision for how simple sounds can change the destiny of children. In April, 2014, I had the great joy of visiting two of the Tripura Foundation HoPE Learning Centers in Tamil Nadu (a state in southern India) which include children using simple sounds as part of their on-going program:

This is a famous vortex for peace which has been visited throughout the centuries by various saints and siddhas, including the siddha Agastya who is said to have worshipped Muruga here and received the divine gift of the Tamil language. At the end of our visit, we saw some peacocks (a bird associated with Muruga and symbolizing Infinite Light). I looked at the largest peacock and said the word “Mayil” (Tamil word for peacock). He immediately turned toward us and opened his tail feathers to their fullest spread. My guide smiled and said, “Muruga has given you a special darshan!” It was a delightful omen for the rest of the day. The two HoPE Learning Centers we went to are in villages in a rural area which traditionally has had agriculture as a mainstay. However, due to the water levels dropping lower and lower over recent years, employment options in that field are becoming greatly reduced. The up and coming generation needs to learn new skills to break out of poverty cycles. I was accompanied by my guide, Mr. Duneshakar, who has himself experienced positive transformations in working for Dr. Pillai’s companies. When I first met him several years ago, he was a young and rather shy packing clerk in the Shipping Department of AstroVed. Now he has matured into someone who is a candidate for a Master’s degree and confidently carries a United Nations card showing his involvement in relief work which is a big jump in “status” for him. The children at Guruvarajapet greeted us warmly with flowers and smiles. They had organized a program for us that included dancing, singing, acrobatics, yoga, sharing of science exhibits, mime performances and more. I was impressed with how bright and alert all the children were. If it was not their turn yet to perform, they were sitting patiently and giving their attention and support to the ones who had the spotlight. There was no boredom or mindless chattering or fighting. They were demonstrating great teamwork. The children themselves were serving as emcee, coordinating the music to play and getting the next group ready for their turn. We commended them and their teachers for doing such a good job at this Center as this has helped create a model for other Centers.

In addition to the children’s project, we saw another program at Guruvarajapet for women who are enrolled in a tailoring class. They are learning to sew and make garments which is a skill they can use at home and make extra income for their family. Their instructor showed us the various kinds of stitching and garments the women are learning to make, and the women had sincere messages of thanks for the Tripura sponsors and their heartfelt request for the tailoring class to be continued in their area. This pathway to economic relief is deeply appreciated by the local women. At Pattabiramapuram, we found out it was a local festival day, and some of the children had participated earlier in a kind of “fire walking”, so we admired their courage for that. The ones who had done this had a special thread tied around their arm with a turmeric root. The children greeted us with homemade cards and local flowers, and despite the heat and their earlier exertions for the festival, they rallied to share a happy program with us. Their laughter and smiles were wonderful to see. The Center was clean with evidence of various artwork projects in different mediums as well as various lessons in chalk on the walls. The children carried themselves with confidence, and it was clear their teachers are leading them with love. We praised them for becoming positive role models in their area. Dr. Pillai has a passion for feeding people, and we were at Pattabiramapuram in time for the children to have their “snack”, a tasty dish of very healthy mix of cooked channa (garbanzo beans) with some delicious local greens and spices. The children were nicely organized and did not mob for their snack. They waited with patience to be served. Before eating, the children expressed their gratitude, including regular prayers for the Tripura sponsors. This was very touching to watch. I have met the wonderful sponsors Stacey Lawson and Jo Magnani on previous trips to India, and I send them both waves of gratitude from the Centers and add my thanks to them for their generosity in supporting these programs which are simple, yet effective, in truly changing the lives of many in this area.

Communication is a Science Dr. Baskaran Pillai, Founder, AstroVed Communication is a science, not many people understand the science of communication as it is very complex as you must understand that at some level all communications are miscommunications. What does this mean? You are trying to communicate something, but then there is what I call as ‘listening’ on the part of the other person. ‘Listening’ means you say something and the other person has only a selective understanding about what you are saying. This person listens only to those words you have said which are agreeable to this person. You should always understand the listening that is going on in the other person. There will be people with whom you will be never able to communicate at all because they are full of listening. I don’t want to say ‘full of themselves’ because you are full of yourself as well. So, they are full of listening and you are full of listening. When two people are full of listening which is the innate conditioning of both, then communication is going to be only miscommunication. You have to give some space for listening and then try to understand the other person and try to communicate. As I have said, it is impossible to communicate with some people at all, and with others you don’t even have to communicate. They are going to say ‘Yes, Yes, Yes’ to you. Even before you have put a proposal out, they will say ‘Yes’. They don’t even have to read and say show me the place where I have to sign because they have so much trust. That communication takes place at the level of the heart, not of the head. How clever, intelligent or valuable is the proposal, it is all secondary. Then, there is a communication that is taking place at the level of body language. How your eyes roll and how the other person’s eyes roll and looking into each other’s eyes - these are all very important things to know whether there is communication or not. When you are just talking to another person, by looking at their eyes you can say whether this person is buying into you or suspicious of you. All these things are very important for you to take into consideration, especially if you are in a sphere where you have to interact with a lot of people. The way you can get best results is to be loving, and other person should never ever mistrust you. If you just go with great love, you will succeed. Maheshwari S It is great that women are being recognized, given more importance and are able to achieve so much in all aspects of life. In the present times, celebration of Woman’s Day and Mother’s day has become a practice. Many women are in the limelight and they are being awarded especially on these special days. However, Hinduism has always regarded women as mothers in the highest position. It is said - Matha (mother), Pitha (father), and Guru (teacher) are Deivam (divine). So, the mother always stands first. The role of a mother is not an easy job, especially in today’s world. A mother has to juggle between different roles with her children - a good mother, a good friend, a good cook, a good teacher and being a role model to her children. At each stage of our lives, mothers guide us on our path and they stand as a pillar of support for us. However old we might grow, we definitely look up towards our mothers. It is a real pain to lose our parents, especially our mother and that too at a young age. I know the pain of it as I have experienced the same and it is still difficult for me to come out of it. My heart goes for all those children who have lost their mother for some reason or the other. It is very important that we do our best to maintain a very loving, caring relationship with our mother and respect her for the life she has given to us and for the identity she has given to us. Many times, it so happens that due to our ignorance, negligence, and attitude, we hurt our mother consciously or unconsciously. Later, by the time we realize and try to make amends, it is too late. That sad feeling or the guilt feeling settles down in our subconscious and it pains whenever we think of our mother. We realize this more when we become parents and we also undergo similar situations. It is always good to cherish the happy and positive moments that we have spent with our mother, the love and cared that she has showered on us, so that we will be able to pass on the same to our children. If we carry hatred or hard feeling towards our mother for some reason or the other, we easily transmit that to our children. Blessings from our mother protect us and guide us towards progress in life. That's why, in Hinduism, it is said that before going for any adventure, for a new job, or before doing any auspicious work, it is important to get your mother's blessings.
