I DESIGNED THE BAY RESORT FOR MY GRADUATION PROJECT, IT IS ON A LAND OF 300,000 m^2. IN THIS PROJECT I TRIED TO EXCEED MY LIMITS AND CHALLENGE MYSELF IN THE DESIGNING PROCESS AND THE PRODUCTION OF THIS PROJECT, UNFORTUNATELY THE DEADLINE REACHED AND MY LIMITS DIDN’T.

THE AREA IS LOCATED SOUTH OF UMLUJ CITY ON RAS SHAABAN AREA IN FRONT OF THE MOQAITEA ICLAND, THE AREA IS IN TOUCH WITHE WATER IN THE FRONT SIDE ONLEY, WHICH MAKES THE VIEW POINT AIMING FOR ONE VIEW
THE SHAPE OF CIRCELS CAME
STRETCHING THE CER CILS INTO THE SHAPE OF OVALS, TO CREATE A BETTER AND LARGER VIEW AREA IN THE ELEVATIONS.
AN UNDER WATER AQUARIUM
RATHER THAN BRINGING THE MARIN LIFE TO US, THIS TIME WE GO AND BE THE AQUARIUM FOR THEM.
ZONING:
THE LANDSCAPING IS SURROUNDING THE SITE WHILST THERE ARE GREAN AREAS INSIDE THE SITE AND THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT.
THERE ARE TWO MAIN AREAS IN THE PROJECT, PUBLIC AREA AND THAT IS WERE’S THE MOST PATHES ARE LOCATED TO GIVE A SMOOTH PASSAGE FOR THE PUBLIC, AND A PRIVATE AREA AND IT’S LOCATED WERE THE HOUSING UNITS ARE.
THE PROJECT CONTAINS MANY TYPES OF BUILDINGS:

IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS THE AREA RESULTED IN A VERY HIGH PERCENTAGE OF SUNNY DAYS, WHICH LED TO DESIGNING THE FACADES WITH HORIZONTAL SHADING DEVICES. THEY SERVED THE FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE AND ALSO THEY ARE AESTHETICALLY PLEASING.

THE HOUSING UNITS ON THE FAMILY AREA HAS 5 DIFFERENT TYPES THAT SERVES MANY FAMILIES, UNIT 1,2 & 4 ARE LOCATED ON THE BEACH RIGHT INFRONT OF THE SEA LINE, AND UNIT 3 IS RIGHT BEHIND THEM WITH NO SEA VIEW BUT WITH LARGER AREA AND DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. UNIT NO.5 IS LOCATED ON THE SEA WITH A MUCH LUXURIOUS EXPERIENCE.
ALL UNIT CONCEPTS IS INSPIRED FROM THE OVAL SHAP.

THE HOUSING UNITS ON THE INDIVIDUALE AREA HAS 3 OF THE TYPES THAT ARE LOCATED ON THE FAMILY AREA. UNIT 1,2 & 4 ARE LOCATED ON THE BEACH RIGHT INFRONT OF THE SEA, THE FAMILY SIDE HAS MUCH MORE TYPES OF UNITS, BUT THE INDIVIDUALE SIDE HAS SPORTS AREA RIGHT BEHIND THE UNITS, TO HAVE A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE AND MORE FUN.

THIS IS UNIT TYPE 5, IT’S LOCATED ON THE FAMILY SIDE WERE THE AREA OF LAND IS CLOSE TO SEA LEVEL AND IT’S STRUCTURALY USEFUL TO BUILD THE UNITS ABOVE WATER.
THE UNITS ARE CLOSE TO SEA LEVEL TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR USERS TO ENJOY SEA WATER AND SCUBA-DIVE.

CONCEPT:
THE ARCHITECTURAL OFFICE WAS DESIGNED FOR THE SYSTEMS STUDIO, THE LAND AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS 7200 m^2. IT CONTAINS ALLOT OF DETAILS AND A COMPLETE SET OF DRAWINGS. THE PROJECT HAS TWO BUILDINGS, THE FIRST IS THE ARCHITECTURAL OFFICE, AND THE SECOND IS A RECREATION CENTER THAT JOINS THE BUILDING IN LANDSCAPING.

THE CONCEPT IS TAKEN FROM THE PATH OF THE WIND FROM THE NORTH AND THE SOUTH, WHERE THE COOL AND SMOOTH NORTHERN WIND SHAPES THE SOFT EDGES AND SMOOTH CURVES, WHILST THE HARSH SOUTHERN WIND HELD WITH DUST PARTICLES SHAPES THE HARD HORIZONTAL FACES OF THE BUILDING.
THE GEOMETRY OF THE TWO BUILDINGS IS BIND BY THE LANDSCAPING AND THE SHAPE OF THE TWO BUILDINGS, WHERE THEY LOOK LIKE TWO PIECES OF LEGO THAT FIT TOGETHER.
SITE ANALYSIS:
KING ABDULLAH ROAD IS THE VERTICAL SPINE OF BURIADAH AND ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ROADS IN QASSIM.
LOCATION:
KING KHALID ROAD HAS MANY SERVICES TO THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOOD AND WALKING PEDESTRIANS
ALUFUQ NEIGHBORHOOD IS VERY RICH LANDMARK POINTS NEAR BY, FROM THE EDUCATIONAL TO THE HEALTH AND SAFTY AND MORE.
ELEVATIONS:
BUILDING - A: HAS THE SAME FLUID DYNAMIC WITH THE MAIN CONCEPT WHERE IT SHARES A CONNECTION WITH THE WALLS AND THE LANDSCAPE, IT ALSO CONNECTS THE INNER ENVIRONMENT WITH THE EXTERIOR ENVIRONMENT AND SHADES THE INTERIOR WITH LARG SHADING DEVICES THAT GO ALONG THE ELEVATIONS AND PROTECTS THE USERS FROM THE SUN RAY.
BUILDING - B: CREATED A VIRTICAL SHADING DEVICES ALONG THE ENTIRE ELEVATIONS AND IT ADDS TO BUILDING - A AS IT GOES AGAINST THE HORIZONTAL SHADING DEVICES.
A SYSTEM OF STRAIGHT INTERCONNECTED STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS THAT HOLDS CANTILEVERED OBJECTS.
PILE FOUNDATION
DEEP FOUNDATION, AND A SELENDER COLUMN OR LONG CYLINDER MADE OF MATERIALS SUCH AS CONCRETE OR STEEL WHICH ARE USED TO SUPPORT THE STRUCTURE AND TRANSFER THE LOAD AT DESIRED DEPTH EITHER BY END BEARING OR SKIN FRICTION.
THE CONSTRUCTION METHOD THAT SERVES GOOD FOR THE PROJECT TYPE AND DESIGN IS STEEL STRUCTURE AND DECK SLAB, PARAMETRIC DESIGNS AND CURVED WALLS ARE MOSTLY STEEL STRUCTURE, AND THAT’S BECAUSE STEEL CAN EASILY BE CURVED AND SHAPED FOR THE PROJECT AND STILL BE HAVING THE STRINGTH AND RIGIDITY THAT WE NEED.
THE PROJECT ALSO CONTAINS ALLOT OF CANTILEVERS AND TRUSS WORK TO HOLD THEM UP.
CANTILEVER
THE CONCEPT IS DEPENDENT ON FLUIDITY AND PARAMETRIC DESIGN, WHERE IT’S REFLECTED ON THE PLANS AND THE ELEVATIONS AND ALSO THE STRUCTURE THAT HOLDS THE CANTILEVER ON THE THIRD FLOOR. PRECASTED CONCRETE ON THE SHAPE OF THREE HANDS THAT HOLD EACH OTHER AND THE CANTILEVER AT THE SAME TIME.
PRE-CASTED PRE-FABRRICATED WALLS THAT ARE ASSEMBLED ON SITE ON THE BUILDING. THE PRE-CASTED WALLS ARE PARTS OF:
- CONCRETE
- WINDOWS
- PLUMPING
- ELECTRICAL
THE WALLS GET TRANSFERRED FROM THE FACTORY TO THE SITE FOR ASSEMBLY THIS WAY OF CONSTRUCTION IS SAFER AND MORE EFFICIENT.

AIR HANDELING UNIT (AHU)
THE COOLING AND HEATING SYSTEM IS AN AIR HANDELING UNIT (AHU) THAT IS SUPPLYING AIR AND RETURNING IT THROUGH DUCTS ALL ARROUNG THE BUILDING.
THE BUILDING HAS A LARG UNIT ON THE ROOFS, AND A SMALL UNIT ON EVERY FLOOR.
RATHE THAN ILLUMINATING THE INTERIOR WITH SUSPENDED OR WALL MOUNTED LIGHT FIXTURES, WHICH WOULD DISRUPT THE FLUIDITY OF THE CEILINGS AND WALLS, I CHOSE TO WORK ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY WITH RECESSED LIGHTING.

THIS PROJECT SERVES AS A FRIENDLY LOCAL LIBRARRY FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD THE AREA SURROUNDING HAS NO LIBRARIES, WHICH MAKES THE LOCATION EXCELLENT AND FUNCTIONAL FOR THE LOCALIST.

PART ll: RAUMPLAN
A RAUMPLAN IS A PLANNING METHOD BASED ON DISCREET SPACES AND A DYNAMIC SECTION. THIS METHOD PLACES GREAT EMPHASIS ON THE SCALE OF INDIVIDUAL ROOMS AND OFTEN REQUIRES STEPS INTO EACH SPACE OR CLUSTER OF SPACES.
THE METHOD LARGELY BELONGS TO THE ARCHITECT ADOLF LOOS, IT REQIRES A HIGH LEVEL OF STRUCTURAL AWARENESS AND ABILITY TO MODEL SPACES.
IMPLEMENTING THE METHOD INTO THE LIBRARY HAS AN EFFECTIVE PRINT ON THE SOCIAL INTERACTION BETWEEN THE USERS AND STAFF.

A BREEZE CLOCK IS A LIGHTWEIGHT BUILDING BRICK MOLDED INTO A SPECIFIC SHAPE USING A MIXTURE OF FINE AGGREGATE AND PORTLAND CEMENT
THE BREEZE BLOCK LOGO AND DESIGN CAME FROM THE (LA) OF LA-STRADA AND SHAPED THE LETTERS TO MATCH THE STYLE OF THE CAFE’
MAIN ROAD
USING THE BREEZE BLOCKS I DISTRIBUTED THEM ON A (X & Y) COORDINATES, WHERE THE BLOCKS FADE OUT IN SOME PARTS AND RECONNECTS IN SOME.
THIS METHOD IS CALLED: DOT DISINTEGRATION AND SEAMLESS DOT

THE HOMELAND WITH ITS SOVEREIGNTY, LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE WHO ARE LOYAL, TOGETHER THEY CLIMB TO THE TOP AND TOGETHER THEY IGNITE THE FIRE OF CREATIVITY AND INSPIRATION, THE SAUDI PEOPLE HAVE NO LIMITS, AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS COOPERATED IN ACHIEVING THE SAUDI DREAM AND REALIZING THE KINGDOM’S VISION 2030. THIS IS THE IDEA OF THE MODEL, FORMING A SYMBOL OF THE PEOPLE’S COOPERATION AND LOYALTY FOR THE HOMELAND, PRESERVING IT AND IT’S RESOURCES.
