WHAT IS THE PERFECT FIT? The Perfect Fit is a celebration of the work of Lamar University’s advanced graphic design students. This one night event will showcase the work of Lamar University Advanced Graphic Design students, in a professional setting. Students will have the opportunity to discuss their work in a public forum, sit down and talk one-on-one with mentors in the design field, and network with area professionals and potential employers. Sharing graphic design student work with the community fosters a greater awareness of the importance of Graphic Design in our everyday culture.

I’m very much a methodical type of person always visualizing in my mind every component of a project before I even lay the foundation physically. Art is everything and everywhere so it is absolutely vital that I make art that is both aesthetically pleasing and one that also stands apart from the majority.

In this day and age one goes right along with the other. Nothing speaks louder than an aesthetically pleasing work of art.

I use my minimalism approach to emphasize the simplicity design. In my perspective, any design or concept should have the simplest and fewest elements in order to achieve the quality of work.

Graphic Design Minor Communications http://www.behance.net/Willeeyum As a graphic designer and an advertiser, I have a strong appreciation of good design and advertising. I can no longer watch a commercials for enjoyment, but I critique it and ask myself if it works and why. I scrutinize my work the same way and want my design to make an impact on the viewer and challenge them to get up and do something.

Through this philosophical approach, I believe I can create influential designs that individuals can have an emotional connection with. Also, as a Graphic Designer, I believe I have the responsibility to produce quality work that is meaningful.

Designs have to be clever without being over the top, aesthetically appealing without being too much like a hallmark card, and creative enough to catch the eyes of viewers everywhere. Our world is influenced daily by the designs out there, I just want to be to be a designer in it.
