NICARAGUA Save the Children works in Nicaragua promoting the rights of children and adolescents to education, to health and to a life without violence. Our approach is based on the participation of children and adolescents, their families and communities in their own development.
AREAS OF INTERVENTION
OUR WORK Education: we work to ensure that children have access to quality educational services, encourage inclusive education for children with disabilities, promote intercultural bilingual education and work with adolescents in technicalproductive educational programs. In addition, we promote community and school participation in disaster risk reduction. Child Rights Governance: we work in coordination with national and local governments to improve accountability in compliance with children’s rights conventions. We encourage active participation of children and adolescents in the development of laws and policies that affect them and advocate for their views to be heard.
