It all started with a problem, a solution, and a Christmas gift. Adrian Alvi would come home after work tired, but still needing to plan and prepare dinner for his family. “What’s for dinner” is not the first thing one wants to hear after a long day’s work. Then a new concept came to him, seasoning and sweetening blends that could be used on any food, cooked any way! No MSG, gluten, soy, dairy or silicon dioxide and even vegan options available. The most versatile seasoning (and now Sweetening) blends that can be used universally! Being a lifelong student of foods and flavors, he knew that if he could get what was in his head into a jar, it just might make life easier. He realized then that he needed to share what he found with the world. Save The Day was born. Now it’s easier than ever to cook and bake easier, healthier, and tastier food and desserts! No kitchen skills required. A new and better way to handle the daily demands of feeding your family.

SALTED CARAMEL BROWNIES Yields 8x8 pan

FROSTING: Mix 3 C. powdered sugar, ½ C Salted Caramel Sweetenings. In mixer, add ¼ C soft butter and ¼ C milk until desired consistency. Blend on medium speed for 2 mins. BAKING DIRECTIONS: ¾ cup Universal Baking Mix ½ cup melted butter 2 eggs ¼ cup Chocolate Save The Day Sweetening ¼ cup cocoa In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix until just blended well (30 seconds electric mixer), but do not overmix! Pour into greased 8 x 8 baking dish and bake at 325º for 18-20 minutes.

1 lb chicken breast, cut into ¼” strips. Thread lengthwise onto 6-8” wood or metal skewers. If wood, soak the skewers in water for 20 minutes so they don’t burn before the chicken is done when grilling. Marinate the sliced chicken for a couple hours before skewering. Grill on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes, flip, then cook 2 more minutes. Serve quickly as they tend to cool quickly. THAI MARINADE In bowl, combine 1/3 cup water, 2 Tbs oil, 1 tsp vinegar, 2 tsp sugar, and 1 Tbs Save the Day Thai or Spicy Thai seasoning.
