What the Owner Says “When we first saw this house in 2004, we knew as soon as we got out of the car that this house was perfect. On a sunny day there’s nothing better than being out in the field or upstairs for the view of the sea. It’s wonderful to be able to watch a full moon reflecting on the sea or sitting in the rear garden with a glass of chardonnay watching the sun set. This house has all the charm of a beach house without the noise of being right on the seafront. Apart from the beautiful views, we’ll definitely miss the open plan kitchen and dining room. It’s a great entertaining room, allowing you to cook and chat to guests and we’ve seated over twenty guests there. It’s so easy to commute and living here means you can enjoy nights out in London and get the train home. We chose this home over a place in the Cotswolds as it gives you access to the rest of the world.” In the Local Area With the South Downs right on your doorstep, Wivelsfield Road is also within easy reach of the seafront and the iconic Saltdean Lido. Sitting beneath the distinctive white cliffs, a shingle beach features an undercliff walk along the sea wall stretching all the way to Brighton Marina. Local shops on Longridge Avenue offer plenty of convenience while nearby Rottingdean has a wide variety of classic tea shops, restaurants and bars. Local schools include Saltdean Primary School, St Margaret’s C of E Primary School, Our Lady of Lourdes RC School and St Aubyn’s School, while the ever popular independent Roedean School for girls is only a short distance away. Regular bus services travel along the A259 into the centre of Brighton and Hove and also eastwards to Newhaven with its ferry terminal. Brighton train station offers convenient mainline commuter links to London, while nearby Southease station is on the Seaford Branch of the East Coastway Line.
