so. i’m here. somehow. still breathing. somehow, especially with the amount of toxic fumes in the air. honestly not too sure why i’m starting this blog or writing this to begin with. i think i need somewhere to put my thoughts and a diary seemed too formal for me. plus my hand would get tired. nyc is really cool. not sure where i fit in though. i’ve been having a lot of trouble putting myself out there. i haven’t really made that many friends and i’ve been here almost a month. it’s mostly my fault though. i’ve been super scared to put myself out there so i just... haven’t. i haven’t really given myself that chance to make friends, so i have no reason to be sad really. i basically did it to myself. but i am sad. feeling alone and scared and insecure.

the people here are so beautiful and talented. not sure how i measure up to them. i’ve always had an issue with comparing myself to people, but i think it’s worse now. my mental health hasn’t been too great either. once again, i blame myself for that. i keep thinking these negative thoughts so of COURSE my mental health won’t be that great. i’m definitely trying harder though. realizing as i type this that i need to. i really miss home. not louisiana though. just home. my mom, my friends. sometimes when i get really sad, i look at oneway tickets back to louisiana. not sure why. i know i won’t buy one. this is depressing. i’m sorry. hopefully these blog posts get better as i begin to feel better. i’m going to coney island on friday with some girls i met so hopefully that goes good. now i have to go back to writing my essay. thank you for reading, if you did.

documenting my adolescence is the most important thing I could currently be doing.

The scene of music and creativity in Boston has been overlooked for too long and I aim to help young creators gain the exposure that their lifestyles deserve. I have recently been inspired by James Marcus Haney, a filmmaker and photographer, and Larry Clark, who was the director of the 1995 film KIDS. These artistsSer Collage combine the aesthetic of raw life with the spotlight ofBlack outcast & Wh teens. I created a series called Teen Rage, and it’s become a major influence on the aesthetic of my work. The major concept of my photography targets the hidden teenage archives of the nightlife and rebellious acts that occur behind closed doors. I’ve always been known to belong where I don’t belong. This has lead to countless opportunities of truly just being in the right place at the right time with my camera pointed in the right direction.
