s. YUPPIE, short for "Young Urban Professional",
They dressed gorgeously, abandon the previous (Hippies 1960s-70s) life style of advocating freedom and slovenly. They had the brains. They had the looks. They made lots of money. They wanted pasta machines, Rolex watches, Sony Walkmans and a VCR, but within a few years the image had altered to that of Wall Street.
Hippies 1960s-70s
Yuppies 1980s ~
In the 1980s, the old HIPPIES (1960s) returned to society, they worked hard to become professionals, and began to advocate luxury brands and affluent life, so was the beginning of luxury brand sales. There were breakthrough developments not only in technology, but also in fashion style and quality of life. In addition to these, another major development is music.
The 80s are the foundation of modern pop music. All popular music nowadays has been extended from the 1980s. Throughout the 80s decade, R&B, Hip Hop, and Urban genres were becoming commonplace. The music feature of the 1980s are Heavy metal, Rock n Roll, Disco, Pop....and so on.

Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night
Alfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops
Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall
Him and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowlin' around
Arthur Dexter Bradley said I'm really not sure The cops said a poor boy like you could use a break
She sees a bartender in a pool of blood
He said, I saw two men runnin' out, they looked like middleweights
Cries out my God, they killed them all
They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates
Here comes the story of the Hurricane
And Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head
You'll be doin' society a favor
The man the authorities came to blame
Cop said, wait a minute, boys, this one's not dead
That sonofabitch is brave and gettin' braver
For somethin' that he never done Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been The champion of the world Three bodies lyin' there does Patty see And another man named Bello, movin' around mysteriously I didn't do it, he says, and he throws up his hands I was only robbin' the register, I hope you understand I saw them leavin', he says, and he stops One of us had better call up the cops And so Patty calls the cops And they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashin' In the hot New Jersey night Meanwhile, far away in another part of town Rubin Carter and a couple of friends are drivin' around
So they took him to the infirmary And though this man could hardly see They told him that he could identify the guilty men Four in the mornin' and they haul Rubin in They took him to the hospital and they brought him upstairs The wounded man looks up through his one dyin' eye Says, wha'd you bring him in here for? He ain't the guy! Here's the story of the Hurricane The man the authorities came to blame For somethin' that he never done Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
We got you for the motel job and we're talkin' to your friend Bello You don't wanta have to go back to jail, be a nice fellow
We want to put his ass in stir We want to pin this triple murder on him He ain't no Gentleman Jim Rubin could take a man out with just one punch But he never did like to talk about it all that much It's my work, he'd say, and I do it for pay And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way Up to some paradise Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice And ride a horse along a trail But then they took him to the jailhouse
The champion of the world
Where they try to turn a man into a mouse
Four months later, the ghettos are in flame
All of Rubin's cards were marked in advance
Rubin's in South America, fightin' for his name
The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance
Number one contender for the middleweight crown
While Arthur Dexter Bradley's still in the robbery game
The judge made Rubin's witnesses drunkards from the slums
Had no idea what kinda shit was about to go down
And the cops are puttin' the screws to him, lookin' for somebody to blame
To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum
When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road
Remember that murder that happened in a bar
And to the black folks he was just a crazy nigger
Just like the time before and the time before that
Remember you said you saw the getaway car
No one doubted that he pulled the trigger
In Paterson that's just the way things go
You think you'd like to play ball with the law
And though they could not produce the gun
Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw runnin' that night
The D.A. said he was the one who did the deed
If you're black you might as well not show up on the street 'Less you want to draw the heat
Don't forget that you are white
And the all-white jury agreed
Rubin Carter was falsely tried The crime was murder one, guess who testified Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride How can the life of such a man Be in the palm of some fool's hand
Born.
Duluth, Minnesota, U.S.

I rolled out this morning Kids had the mornin' news show on Bryant Gumbel was talkin' 'bout the fighting in Lebanon Some senator was squawkin' 'bout the bad economy It's gonna get worse you see, we need a change in policy
Origin. Toronto, Ontario, Canada
There's a local paper rolled up in a rubber band One more sad story's one more than I can stand Just once how I'd like to see the headline say "Not much to print today, can't find nothin' bad to say", because
Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town Nobody OD'ed, nobody burned a single buildin' down Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain We sure could use a little good news today
Song.
I'll come home this evenin' I'll bet that the news will be the same Somebody takes a hostage, somebody steals a plane How I want to hear the anchor man talk about a county fair
Web.
And how we cleaned up the air, how everybody learned to care
Whoa, tell me Nobody was assassinated in the whole Third World today And in the streets of Ireland, all the children had to do was play And everybody loves everybody in the good old USA We sure could use a little good news today
Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town

And I'll see your true colors Shining through You with the sad eyes
I see your true colors
Don't be discouraged
And that's why I love you
Oh I realize
So don't be afraid to let it show
It's hard to take courage
Your true colors
In a world full of people
True colors are beautiful
You can lose sight of it all
Like a rainbow
And the darkness inside you
If this world makes you crazy
Can make you feel so small
And you've taken all you can bear
But I see your true colors
You call me up
Shining through
Because you know I'll be there
I see your true colors
And I'll see your true colors
And that's why I love you
Shining through
So don't be afraid to let them show Your true colors True colors are beautiful Like a rainbow
I see your true colors And that's why I love you So don't be afraid to let it show
Show me a smile then
True colors
Don't be unhappy, can't remember
True colors
When I last saw you laughing If this world makes you crazy And you've taken all you can bear You call me up Because you know I'll be there
