Where people matter Where lives are real
Annual Report 2015
The Inclusion Programme for 2015 The Story So Far In 1996 Simon Duffy recognised the need for personalised supports that acknowledged the skills and talents of people Society had supported in Lennox Castle Hospital and other long stay Institutions. In founding Inclusion Glasgow he pioneered the use of Individual Service Funds and bespoke supports, that emphasised the citizenship of people living in their own homes as members of the local communities not grouped together and isolated. Over the next years Frances Brown continued to develop the Organisation and grow the reputation for being innovative and not risk averse. Today Director Sheila Scott is proud of the growth in Inclusion, taking the Inclusion way of working to people with any support needs, across the West of Scotland, helping them to live the lives that they see as meaningful and want to have.

What has this year been like?
Exciting! New Projects with North Ayrshire We have had the privilege of working with the Children and Families team in North Ayrshire on a pilot approach to supporting families and young people with our short term intervention approach.
New ways to listen The interesting facilitative partnerships with Diversity Matters and Animate have helped us to produce excellent tools and resources to further our creative ways of supporting people.
Working with Simon Duffy Simon came back to Inclusion and was lucky enough to see some familiar faces and meet new people, all of whom were relishing “real living - not just existing.” Together they spent the day thinking about the lessons of Inclusion’s work, getting behind the structures, to try and find the real magic that makes Inclusion work.

Achievements
After twenty eight years in the Television Industry I was looking for a new challenge, possibly the start of a new career, but something that would be interesting on a daily basis. I found the new opportunity with Inclusion, with the bonus of helping people who need support to lead their own life. I’m part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team with a range of skills with one objective, to support the person we work for and to enable them to achieve what they want for themselves. I am thoroughly enjoying this new role and with experienced professionals to offer advice when I need it and plenty of training provided, being a part of Inclusion is a very rewarding experience.
Stuart Watters Supported Living Assistant
Some of the people we work for took part and held coffee mornings in their own homes which were well attended by friends and neighbours. We held our annual MacMillan Coffee morning in the Inclusion office which was very well attended and we raised a fantastic amount of £203.76.
People we work for took part in a Voting Information Day which was attended by local MP’s and MSP’s. The information session was a great opportunity for people to ask questions that they specifically wanted answered and Ian Hood of LDAS facilitated a quiz on the day.
