We engineer a Varus Wedge into the outsole of our BG shoes, giving the foot a 1.5mm angle to compensate for its natural tilt. This creates better alignment of the knee over the foot and, boosting efficiency and comfort.

We asked The Captain himself, Ned Overend, to help us design the perfect tire for control and predictability over any trail, just like those in his demanding XC racing days. The result is ‘The Captain,’ with fast-rolling center knobs for exceptional transition, and edge knobs to attack any trail.

When you have a bike with 160mm of travel, you better have a tire that can handle the trail, whether climbing or descending. The Eskar packs a large volume 2.3 casing and plenty of traction in the edge knobs (+.5mm over prior year), with a low rolling resistance center tread that won’t sacrifice braking or traction.

Big jobs require big equipment. The Purgatory has big-volume 2.2 casing and monster traction, with biting side and center knobs for softer conditions.
