Our Chapter held our 2nd virtual Board Installation on Friday, January 28th, 2022, hosted by our 2021 social affairs co-chairs, Michelle Ding and Stephy Lee. Over 30 members, guests, and students attended the event. We have originally planned our event to be in-person and was looking forward to seeing everyone again. However, due to the Omicron surge, we quickly pivoted ourselves to host the event virtually out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our members. We are very grateful for the ongoing support of our members and your flexibility during these uncertain times.
The event started off introducing distinguished guests in attendance – Past CSHP and SBLB President, Steve Thompson, and Past CSHP President, Kenn Horowitz. We greatly appreciate your support of our chapter!
We also had interactive pharmacy trivia throughout our event to encourage audience participation and a chance to win Amazon gift cards. We also recognized past SBLB presidents who were in attendance. Steven Thompson conducted the installation of the 2022 board. The 2021 SBLBSHP President, John McGady, was presented with a plaque of appreciation for his leadership during another year of uncertainty with COVID. John, then, recognized the 2021 board members with a speech of appreciation.

Stephy Lee from Western University School of Pharmacy was the recipient of the student scholarship award for her active involvement and dedication to our chapter. Muno Bholat, Director of Pharmacy from Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers, was recognized for the Kelly Hales Memorial Pharmacist of the Year Award for his significant contributions to the pharmacy profession. The mentorship program coordinator, Danny Pham, acknowledged members who volunteered in our chapter’s mentorship program as well as selected students who successfully completed the program. Afterwards, the 2022 SBLBSHP president, Michelle Ding, made a speech expressing her gratitude for the continued support of our chapter’s members and shared her goals and visions for the year ahead with plans for more in-person events and networking opportunities to keep our members engaged.
Finally, SBLBSHP would like to thank everyone who attended our virtual Board Installation and we are looking for a great year ahead!
