Through the SCAD Collaborative Learning Center (CLC), students participate in groundbreaking sponsored partnerships with industry leaders to create innovative solutions to today’s most relevant business challenges.
SCAD AND FOX SPORTS TEAM UP FOR SUPER BOWL XLVIII Working with the CLC, 18 SCAD students partnered with FOX Sports to design and produce the title graphics for Super Bowl XLVIII, the largest and most-watched sporting event in the U.S. They developed three design concepts that brought the story of Cleatus, the network’s robotic football mascot, to life. The final animation was a half-minute slot seen by more than 111.5 million viewers.

PROFESSIONAL TOOLS AND RESOURCES SCAD students graduate with professional credentials. With access to advanced professional-level tools, SCAD students have everything they need to realize their creative visions. Specialized resources at every location help students traverse their areas of study and push the limits of their disciplines. Wide-ranging certifications allow students to step onto the professional stage after graduation ready to work. In sound design, students have the rare opportunity to become Pro Tools certified before graduating — SCAD is an Avid Pro Tools certification school for audio postproduction. They use extensive film production facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, including the Steadicam® EFP (Ultra, Flyer and Shadow), Super Panther and Fisher dollies, two chroma key green screen studios, an ICON D-Command recording studio and a Techno-Jib. Students who earn Avid Pro Tools and Avid Media Composer certification are registered on the Avid website and earn professional credentials before graduation.

Indian Street Studios consists of nearly 50,000 square feet of space repurposed expressly for film and sound production. SCAD FILMMAKERS IMPACT INDUSTRY SCAD students produce cutting-edge films. Sea Odyssey is an award-winning film about a father who embarks on an ambitious deep-sea expedition to find solace in the shadow of his son’s looming death. SCAD alumnus Adam Nelson (B.F.A. film and television), who is the film’s writer, director and co-producer, earned a plethora of honors and recognitions in 2014 and 2015.

SAVANNAH FILM FESTIVAL Each fall, SCAD presents the Savannah Film Festival, a weeklong cinematic celebration showcasing films by Hollywood heavyweights and emerging talents. Attracting more than 50,000 attendees annually, the Savannah Film Festival is the largest university film event in the nation and hosts a variety of competition film and special screenings, workshops, panels and lectures. Throughout the event, acclaimed guests — a star-studded mix of award-winning filmmakers and showbiz moguls — connect with students and festivalgoers to share insights on the art and business of film.

ATVFEST In 2013, SCAD launched aTVfest to showcase the magnitude of Georgia’s production industry, which generated $6 billion in economic impact to the state in fiscal year 2015. The festival honors standout talent in the digital media and television industry, highlighting established industry veterans, emerging talent and the university’s dynamic community of students, alumni and faculty — all located in the eighth-largest television market in the U.S. Much like the industry, aTVfest has grown, offering more workshops, discussions, lectures, exclusive screenings and networking receptions with today’s top actors, directors, producers, writers and other professionals in the digital media and television industries. SCAD: THE UNIVERSITY FOR CREATIVE CAREERS The Savannah College of Art and Design is a private, nonprofit, accredited university, offering more than 100 academic degree programs in 42 majors across its locations in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia; Hong Kong; Lacoste, France; and online via SCAD eLearning.
