The beginning
In the beginning God made light. Then He created the earth where we live.
2
3
God fills the earth
God made the blue water and green land. He filled the land with mountains and valleys, forests, rivers and fields. He made colorful flowers and tall trees.
4
5
God makes stars and planets
God filled the sky with shining lights. The sun gives us light every day and keeps us warm. The moon and the stars give light at night.
6
7
God makes animals
8
Now God wanted to make animals - animals that swim, animals that run and jump. God even made animals that climb trees, and animals that fly high in the air! They all 9 loved the earth God made.
God makes people
10
Then God made the most amazing creation of all. He made people like you and me. God made a man and a woman. He called them Adam and Eve. They were God’s friends.
11
God is happy
12
God looked at everything He had made: earth and sky, land and ocean, animals and people. He saw it was very good. God was happy with what He had made.
13
Creation in the Bible
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:26-30
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. THE STORY OF
NOAH'S ARK Genesis 5:1-9:29
16
17
Bad people
One day, a long time ago, God looked at the earth and saw people everywhere doing very bad things. God was sad. He decided to get rid of everything and make it all new again.
18
19
Noah builds a boat
God decided to flood the whole earth with water. He went and told His friend Noah to build a big boat, so he could be safe. He told Noah to put animals on the boat, so they could be safe, too.
20
21
Soon, the trees were covered with water. Then, the water covered the mountains! Would it ever stop?
Rain
When it started to rain, Noah and the animals were safe on the big boat. It rained and rained and rained.
22
23
Inside the boat
In the meantime, Noah and his family were busy. The animals needed food and care. The rain finally stopped, but the whole earth was flooded with water! 24
25
The dove brings back a leaf
Noah and the animals waited and waited. Then Noah sent out a dove, to see if it would find dry land. It did!
It brought back a green leaf to show Noah. Noah and the animals were very happy!
26
27
God’s rainbow
28
Noah and the animals got off the boat. Noah thanked God for taking care of them. God put a beautiful rainbow in the sky and promised never to destroy the earth again.
29
Noah’s Ark in the Bible
The LORD then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”
his wife and his sons’ wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood. Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground, male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah. And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth. Genesis 7:1-10
And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him. Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth. And Noah and his sons and

Nearby, there were some shepherds taking care of their sheep. Suddenly, the sky was filled with angels! They told the shepherds that Jesus had been born that night. The shepherds hurried away to find him.
41
The wise men
Even some wise men from far away heard of Jesus. God put a special star in the sky to lead them to where Jesus was! They traveled a long time. Finally, they found Baby Jesus. 42
43
Gifts to Baby Jesus
The wise men gave gifts to Baby Jesus. They knew he was God’s own son because God had told them.

The first Christmas in the Bible
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:1-7

50
When Jesus was on the earth, he helped a lot of people. He made a lot of friends. But some people didn’t like Jesus. They wanted to kill him.
51
Jesus is arrested
So they came up with a plan to have Jesus arrested. They hoped he would be sentenced to death.
52
53
Jesus on the cross
Jesus was sentenced to die on a cross. The people liked this. They thought it would make Jesus go away forever. Jesus’ friends were very, very sad.
54
55
The angel and the soldiers
Jesus’ friends buried him in a cave, with a big rock in front of the door. Soldiers guarded the cave to make sure no one moved the rock. But then an angel came and moved the rock! 56
57
The empty tomb
When Jesus’ friends came, they saw that the cave was empty. They didn’t know what had happened, and they were very afraid.
58
59
Jesus is alive
Suddenly Jesus was standing right in front of them! Jesus’ friends were so happy. God had raised Jesus from the dead!
The first Easter in the Bible
At this, Mary turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. “Woman,” he said, “why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her. John 20:14-18
