Scania Training Services Welcome Thank you for enquiring about a course with Scania Training Services, we are extremely proud of the services we offer. As one example our pass rates are, on average, 15% higher than the industry standard. This we attribute to our experienced trainers, modern vehicles, focus on quality and a team who are friendly, knowledgeable and able to advise you every step of the way. All this plus the peace of mind knowing you have booked your training with Scania. We look forward to helping you gain your B+E driving entitlement very soon. Mark Agnew, Training Manager, Training Services
Car and Trailer (B+E) Introduction Anyone who gained their driving licence after January 1, 1997 requires B+E entitlement to tow a trailer over 750kgs (including the load). The B+E test is carried out at an LGV (HGV) driving test centre and vehicles and trailers used for a B+E test must meet the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) test vehicle criteria. For detailed information on the B+E entitlement, or to confirm if you need it for your requirements please visit www.gov.uk/towing-with-car
Why Use Scania to gain your Licence? • Our trained and knowledgeable staff are there to help you every step of the way. • Every customer has a workbook to guide them through training and help achieve their goal. • Our vehicle fleet is modern and easy to drive – learn in the best with the best. • All our trainers are highly experienced. • We offer one-to-one tuition and a pre training, on-road assessment to help tailor your training to you. • We operate from 10 sites across the UK. • Scania (Great Britain) Limited has been operating for over 50 years.
Assessment Prior to your training, for individuals with no previous towing experience, we offer an optional on-road assessment. This takes approximately one hour and helps us tailor the training to your needs. *Please note there is an additional fee for the assessment, please refer to our B+E price list for further information.
Training Training will take place at one of our 10 UK sites and the standard length of a B+E training course is 3 half days, including the test. You are trained and accompanied to the test by your trainer. You will receive a workbook to be filled in by your trainer, which guides you through exercises you need to complete during your test.
Vehicles Our vehicles and trailers are modern and meet the DVSA standard. They are well equipped and are specified to give you the best possible chance of passing your test.
Support We’ll give you a personal advisor who’s there to support you throughout your training. They’ll book the training and test on your behalf and you can contact them at any point via phone or email.
Refresher Training We also offer a one day refresher course for those who already have their B+E entitlement. Delivered by our experienced trainers, we’ll cover key driving skills to help you tow your trailer or caravan with confidence. Remember if you passed your car test (category B) before January 1, 1997 you will already have the B+E entitlement.
