SCANIA CREWCAB
Serving your crew with safety and comfort
SCANIA CREWCAB
Factory-built, for rugged performance and maximum protection The latest Scania CrewCab draws on experience from more than 90 years of interaction with fire and rescue services around the world. For owners and users, Scania CrewCabs combine strength and reliability with greater safety and ergonomics. For bodybuilders, they offer fast and efficient building since the chassis is delivered complete with cab ex-factory. The chassis features the same modular components and parts found in all Scania trucks. Maximum uptime, with the service and parts needed to stay on the job, is provided via Scania’s global sales and service network.
A proven winner in impact testing With so much driving and work taking place in dangerous environments and dense traffic, the Scania CrewCab is built with an extra margin of strength to ensure occupant safety. All versions meet the safety and performance requirements of European standard EN 1846-2 for firefighting and rescue vehicles. They also meet and to some extent exceed the rigourous Swedish Rescue Board’s BAS standard and conform to the Swedish Road Administration’s as well the European Union’s rigorous cab-safety requirements.
A better solution for bodybuilding Drawing on our close co-operation with bodybuilders worldwide, Scania is able to deliver a tailormade solution. The Scania CrewCab is one of only a few factory-built crewcabs available in the world. This eliminates numerous steps in the purchasing process, cutting lead times and saving money. Scania CrewCabs are available with a wide variety of chassis configurations and axle distances, all delivered with a ‘clean frame’ behind the cab. The chassis is easily adaptable to different bodies and body positions, and can be provided with mounting-holes. For easy electrical connection, the roof and A-pillars can be equipped with optional cable harnesses. Optional pre-drilled hole patterns are also available to facilitate the mounting of radio aerials, beacons and lighting on the roof. With the optional Bodywork System (BWS), a factory-fitted electric interface allows easy connection to the electrical system via analogue or CAN-bus signals. Inside, three robust aluminium brackets are
attached to the rear wall to allow the mounting of breathing apparatus or other equipment. This simplifies installation by eliminating the need to dismantle the wall panel.
An ergonomic masterpiece, available in two versions Two models are available of the Scania CrewCab, each with plenty of space for safety equipment and tools. The short version has space for up to six and the long version takes up to eight crew members. The Scania CrewCab is ergonomically designed to support the crew in their work. Speed, efficiency and safety are paramount. Entry and exit are facilitated by sturdy, well-placed yellow grabrails and extra-wide doors that open a full 90 degrees. As an option, folding rear boarding steps can be specified for even easier access. The step drops down as soon as the door is opened. The wraparound windscreen provides excellent forward visibility for the driver and the officer-in-

charge. The ergonomically designed driver environment promotes safe driving and facilitates manoeuvring in confined places.
Great standard features, plus plenty of options The long Scania CrewCab can be specified with side windows between the doors. Various crew benches and seating options are available to suit different preferences. To keep equipment and personal belongings in place, the storage bins and fittings are designed to withstand sudden stops, including deceleration up to 10 G. Separate interior lighting, front and rear contrasting red background lighting are standard. Scania CrewCabs can be fitted with seatbelt pretensioners and a driver’s airbag for maximum protection at the front. Both features enhance safety and reduce the risk of injuries, while helping the driver to quickly regain control and thus avoid secondary collisions. Lap-and-diagonal seatbelts are provided for the driver and the officer in charge.
