ED is a common problem associated with aging, but it can appear at any age. In fact, one of every four men diagnosed is under 45 years old. There are a series of life habits "that can contribute to its appearance as the indiscriminate consumption of fats, alcohol or tobacco, sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical exercise," says Dr. Hennings. Thus, the analysis carried out by these clinics concludes that 70% of patients between 26 and 35 years old and 66% between 36 and 45 consume alcohol eventually and four out of ten smoke.

Healthy Habits First of all, "the important thing is to consult with a male sexual health expert to rule out any type of pathology, including associated ones, and to be able to solve the problems of erection," recommends Dr. Hennings. In addition, the following tips may be useful:

1. Eliminate tobacco: a daily pack increases the chances of developing ED by 60%. 2. Do not abuse alcohol: up to six out of ten men in a drunken state do not have a satisfactory

erection response to have sex.

3. Avoid drug use: 27% of men addicted to cocaine have difficulty achieving an erection. 4. Follow a healthy diet: excess weight and obesity are related to metabolic disorders that lead to pathologies closely related to ED such as cardiovascular disease or diabetes.

5. Practice physical exercise: practicing 40 minutes a day

three or four times a week can reduce cardiovascular risk and, therefore, that of developing ED.

6. Maintain an active sex life: frequent sexual intercourse

reduces the chances of developing ED since it activates blood circulation.

7. Go to an expert on male sexual health: if you have related symptoms or doubts about it, before resorting to self-medication, it is best to go to an expert so you can make a diagnosis and indicate the most appropriate treatment for each case.
