The idea is to give shape and make the person in the mass visible. The pattern technique of wrapping creates a recognizable silhouette and gives the body form. The silhouette is characterized by an interplay of defining and manipulating the body. The jacket is the concrete example that allows you to see the body. Whereas the wrapping creates an abstract form that represents the impersonality of the mass.
