AN INNOVATIVE CHOICE

evolo® is an innovative production process that respects the environment and circular economy principles, recovering and regenerating suede processing waste (RE-SUEDE®) and significantly reducing chemical products without any further addition of chromium, while also cutting down on CO2 emissions and the use of water.

A more conscious use of the resources that give life to suede with an even higher performance, first and foremost, color fastness. In fact, evolo® suede does not bleed and thanks to this extraordinary property, prestigious finishes are possible which endow a velvety touch while keeping the color fastness unchanged. In addition, evolo®, which is UV ray resistant, comes in various sizes and thicknesses expressed in an unlimited range of particularly deep and intense shades.

AN ECO-SUSTAINABLE CHOICE

Pebax® Rnew is produced from renewable sources with low CO2 emissions, a first step in reducing our mark on Earth.

By avoiding unnecessary uses, favouring renewable sources and limiting everybody’s mark on the planet, it will be possible to form a clean environmental conscience.

Grilamid BIO is part of Ems-Grivory’s complete line of bio-based polyamides. From a technical point of view, GreenLine products are in no way inferior to crude-oil based polyamides. The primary objective of Ems-Grivory with GreenLine is to offer customers products based on renewable raw materials, having excellent properties which allow a proven contribution towards the reduction of environmental impact.

SAFETY AT YOUR FEET

RECCO technology, applied by SCARPA on ski mountaineering and telemark boots, makes you searchable to professional rescuers in the event of an avalanche accident. First introduced in 1983, the technology was developed by Magnus Granhed with the cooperation of Stockholm’s Royal Institute of Technology in response to his personal experience with an avalanche tragedy.

SCARPA has been the first brand to integrate the RECCO system in its boots. It has proven a very effective solution and been adopted by an extensive network of ski resorts, helicopter skiing operations, parks, and search-and-rescue organizations in Europe, Japan, North and South America.

The RECCO technology enables rapid directional pinpointing of a victim’s precise location using harmonic radar. The two-part system consists of a RECCO detector used by professional rescue teams and RECCO reflectors that are integrated into apparel, helmets, protection gear, and boots. It is important to challenge yourself and push your limits, but it is as essential as being responsible, by taking some precautionary measures, able to make you feel protected, even with extreme conditions.

Neither power or activation are required for RECCO reflectors to function.

RECCO detectors are used by rescue professionals worldwide.

The RECCO reflector enables professional rescuers to locate you in the event of an avalanche accident or when lost outdoors.

HOW A SOLE IS BORN

Measurement of the main performance indicators (including Grip on dry and wet terrain, and Resistance) is essential in choosing the best sole according to the activity for which the shoe was designed.

The midsole is the result of meticulous research in materials, density and shanks, to create the

best compromise between control, precision and comfort.

The outsole is designed through study of the correct cap positions for propulsion and breaking needs, and the best construction of the self-cleaning grooves to ensure effective shedding of debris from the sole. SKI BOOTS TECHNOLOGIES SCARPA INNOVATIONS

CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM

The ski mountaineering boots construction system offers various solutions. Each of them is effective and can bring greater benefits sometimes for the uphill phase or sometimes for the downhill phase.

AXIAL ALPINE HYBRID CONSTRUCTION

The new Alpine Axial Hybrid closure system is specially designed for hybrid boots that can be used for both on-piste and off-piste skiing. Thanks to the straps installed on the tongue and linked at the mid-point of the shell, it provides a snug fit at the forefoot, as well as ensuring a precise fit for all kinds and sizes of feet, as with the classic overlapping ski boot construction.

AXIAL ALPINE EVO CONSTRUCTION

Creating the best in touring comfort for the up and powerful responsiveness for the down, this unique SCARPA cabrio style design gives you the best of both worlds. The forefoot and the cuff buckles combined with the instep strap allows you to easily adjust the volume, locking your foot in securely for the down while still being able to quickly open the boot to allow for a natural uphill stride.

CABRIO OVERLAP CONSTRUCTION

To achieve powerful progressive flex and customizable volume control while maintaining ease of use, SCARPA introduced Cabrio Overlap for telemark boots. Along with enhancing power transmission, the Cabrio Overlap tongue provides additional durability, taking abuse from ski edges while being easily replaceable after years of skiing your favorite stashes.

GAITER CONSTRUCTION

Our Gaiter Shell construction system delivers ultralight touring agility without compromising downhill skiability. The Gaiter Shell construction is ideally suited for light touring and race oriented boots. This type of construction allows for a secure, easy closure, and maximum weight reduction while still maintaining comfort, performance and waterproofness.

CABRIO CONSTRUCTION

SCARPA‘s original touring boot construction, the Cabrio style, 3-piece design, allows you to dial in the fit, adjust the volume in both the toe-box and instep and snug up the cuff. This is a perfect design for telemark skiers looking for both performance and comfort in their boots.

PEBAX® ELASTOMERS

Designed for extreme conditions, Pebax® elastomers are a premium performance material that has been used for many years in winter sports equipment. They offer a unique combination of high performance properties: sustained flexibility at low temperature, high cold impact resistance, and outstanding energy return. These elastomers are typically 20% lighter than common materials. They combine a polyamide 12 rigid block (PA12) with a hydrophobic polyether soft chain. Bridging the gap between thermoplastics and rubbers, Pebax® materials are an excellent choice for a wide range of high performance applications in sport markets.

Pebax® Rnew materials are premium bio-based thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) made from the oil of the castor plant. CARBON FIBER

Thanks to its characteristics of lightness and strength, the carbon fiber has become the material of excellence for the realization of ski mountaineering race boots. Carbon fiber is a synthetic material reinforced made of filaments that generally are soaked around a resin, which keeps them in place and protects them and with which we create what we call a resistant and light composite material. Among its features, in addition to the above-mentioned lightness and strength, we find a low density, discrete flameproof properties, resistance chemical effects and temperature changes, as well as capacity of thermal insulation.

CARBON GRILAMID LFT®

The Carbon Grilamid LFT® is a polyamide reinforced with long carbon fibers that improve the elongation resistance properties and the rigidity of Grilamid®, without increasing its density when compared with the normal short fibers. This allows reducing the thicknesses of the shell and cuff, thus obtaining a light product but at the same time very performing. Impact resistance and solicitations are improved, allowing to keep intact the performance of the boots over time.

GRILAMID BIO®

Grilamid BIO® is part of Ems-Grivory’s complete line of GREENLINE biobased polyamides. This polymer with a high BIO content guarantees a significant reduction in CO2 emissions while maintaining its main properties of stiffness and elasticity and high impact unaltered. In fact, it derives from the synthesis of castor oil. The castor plant does not compete with food crops for the land and is grown in semi-arid areas (India, China, Brazil). It is, therefore, an excellent alternative to polymers derived from fossil sources and is completely recyclable and non-biodegradable.

GRILAMID FG LFT®

This material is reinforced with long glass fiber. This creates products that have highest strength and stiffness values with a percentage parity compared to a short-fiber, suitable for lightweight applications. The long-fiber structure provides 20% to 30% higher stiffness. All long fiber reinforced polyamides exhibit higher notched impact strength values compared to normal compounds.

GRILAMID®

This special polyammide offers a good compromise between stiffness and rebound; allowing a gradual transmission of the impulses from the boot to the ski during the ski phase.

CLOSURE SYSTEMS

SCARPA adopts numerous and different solutions for the buckles or power strap, each one specific to the type of boot and user.

FAST BUCKLE CLOSURE

One only buckle and a Velcro® strap with a referential graphic, which guarantees a rapid and precise closure. You can have two different fits suitable for both uphill and downhill, changing only the buckle position, and maintaining the same Velcro® closure, for a single and unique setting.

BOOSTER™ STRAP

Dynamic elastic straps stretch, allowing you to cinch them super tight for an increase in performance. They also provides cushioning to keep your shins from bangin’ when you’re getting ultra-sendy, too.

POWER STRAP

The Velcro® Power Strap closure provides the best wrapping on the tibial area, without adding a lot of weight. Equipped with a strong and light aluminium ring, the Velcro® Power Strap offers perfect support against the tongue, avoiding the rebound from the top part of the boots.

FINGER STRAP

Made with a specific design at the end of the Power Strap. It simplifies the opening and closing of the Power Strap even when wearing gloves.

ALUMINIUM BUCKLE

The buckles made of aluminum guarantee lightness and resistance. The design allows for effective use even with gloves. The micrometric adjustment and the steel rings guarantee a better distribution of the closure pressure and a low weight.

MAGNESIUM BUCKLE

The buckle constructed in magnesium alloy is both strong and light. Its essential design offers an easy handling while wearing gloves.

WAVE CLOSURE M-LITE

The Wave Closure M-LITE system guarantees an accurate wrapping of the foot on four points between the malleolus and the forefoot that equalizes the pressure on the foot. 3 adjustment points are available for this system: the 3-tooth rack on the lever, micro-regulator on the toe and a second position for the lever on the strap.

BOA® FIT SYSTEM

BOA® is purpose-built for performance and ensures a smooth, uniform fit without pressure points. Even when you are on the go, the BOA® Fit System can be effortlessly adjusted with millemeter accuracy, ensuring a precision fit for all types of activities. Once locked in position, the BOA® Fit System is secure and reliable.

WAVE CLOSURE LITE

The Wave Lite Closure system ensures an effective and customized closure of the shell without pressure points. The steel cable and the micrometric adjustment of the dial and instep panel mean the closure can be adapted for any foot type.

SKI/WALK MECHANISM

SCARPA adopts numerous and different solutions for the ski / walk mechanism, each specific to the type of boot and user.

SPEED LOCK 4

Made with magnesium, the new mechanism makes the transition from skiing to walking quick and effective thanks to the ergonomic lever and buckle that is easy to use, even with gloves. The mechanism is equipped with Friction Free technology that ensures maximum agility and freedom of movement when walking.

SPEED LOCK LT

Specifically designed for the new cuff, with the possibility to adjust 3 different forward lean position. The lever locks efficiently and quickly in the hook installed on the shell. The simple and clean design of the hook reduce the heap of snow or ice during the activity.

POWER BLOCK TOUR

IIn ski mode, it offers the best rigidity of a fixed-cuff boot, while allowing you to customize the angle of the front cuff. In walk mode, give supreme comfort and mobility when touring.

F1 LEVER

The F1 lever guarantees the maximum in terms of lightness and performance. The transition from ski to walk and vice versa, is easy and fast. The system is enhanced by the Friction Free technology, in fact there isn’t any connecting rod between the shell and cuff, this allows a “friction free” movement during the walking phase.

SPEED LOCK MLT

Made of aluminum, the SPEED LOCK MLT is equipped with Friction Free technology that allows maximum agility and freedom of movement when walking. The locking on the shell is simple and effective, the steel harpoon and the essential design minimize the possibility of snow or ice accumulation, ensuring easy closure even in extreme conditions.

TOUR

Easy to engage, the Ski/Walk mechanism locks and releases the cuff, providing stiffness for downhill control or maximum flex for touring freedom.

SPEED LOCK SYSTEM LITE

Lacing system, consisting of the lever “A-Light”, lightweight and durable, a Dyneema® cord, two loops and two metal hooks. Thanks to this system, the cuff and the shell can be released or locked in a single movement, allowing the front opening or closing of the cuff. The plate for the connection of the lever to the shell, avoids the heap of snow or ice.

ACCELERATOR

The ski/walk mechanism consists of a bar with riveted steel bezel that guarantees maximum stability with minimal down games.

T4 TOUR

Easy to engage, the Ski/Walk mechanism locks and releases the cuff, providing stiffness for downhill control or maximum flex for touring freedom.

LINERS

Intuition Liners offers the best premium boot liners in the world, launching new innovations in moldable liner technology. The proprietary Intuition Foam used exclusively in all Intuition Liners will ensure feet are kept warm, comfortable and happy.

MOLDING OPERATIONS

HEATING MACHINE SCARPA suggest to use only this type of heating machines for the molding of thermoformable inner boots. The temperature is already set, for the heating time follow the instructions on next page.

Suggested time for heathing

HEATING

Before heating be sure to remove any item from inside the liners.

Insert the boots on the heating colums (do not remove the liner from the shell) and wait for the necessary time to heat the inner boots as indicated on next page.

GET READY

To find out the correct size use the fit stick you find on the heating machine kit. Wear the stockings with the toe rubber cap in between.

COOLING-OFF PERIOD

Wear the boots and set all closure systems without compressing the feet too much. If you feel any pressure point replace the liner or repeat the operation. Wait at least 7-8 minutes for the liners to cool down.

SKI

This sole by SCARPA with GripWalk system has an ergonomic design that guarantees optimal grip when walking. It complies with DIN ISO 23223 norm and is compatible with both touring and alpine ski bindings GripWalk. PROFILE

CAYMAN LT PRODUCT

The new Cayman LT sole from SCARPA and Vibram® has an ergonomic design that guarantees optimal grip when walking in any type of terrain. Made of Durastep compound, it is equipped with Traction Lug technology which increases traction by up to 25% while maintaining stability. Compliant with DIN ISO 9523 and compatible with all TLT bindings on the market.

X-TENSION

X-Tension system enhances toepulling power by supporting the arch and forefoot area. This tensioned rubber wrap maintains the optimum foot position for small footholds without taking away sensitivity. X-Tension is specifically designed for our 1/2 length sole units with an aggressive toe angle.

TRI - TENSION

Tri-Tension active randing system gives integral support to the foot while under pressure and maintains flex for smearing.

V-TENSION

V-Tension system enhances toe-pulling power by supporting the arch and forefoot area.

This tensioned rubber wrap is paired with a full sole unit and so does not need rear bands. It works in the same way as X-Tension to maintain the optimum foot position for small footholds.

BI-TENSION

Bi-Tension system is a tensioned rubber wrap reaching down two sides of the shoe. It gives priority to sensitivity and subtle support. Specially adapted to our slightly asymmetrical models, Bi-Tension runs under the front of the toes and draws down along the sides of the foot, leaving the center pad for sensitivity.

DTS - TENSION

DTS tension system adapts perfectly to the dynamics of the foot in motion. The Differentiated Tension System concentrates power onto the big toe without interfering on the fit in other parts of the shoe. This helps keep the foot and toe in optimal position for power transfer and precision.

HT-TENSION

HT - Tension is a refined tension system designed to maintain tension between the heel and toe. It combines the slingshot heel tension and forefoot tension system into a single piece of rubber, reducing the layers around the foot while maintaining the downturned shape and tension at the toe to increase precision.

SF-Single Frame

SF works like a hand, wrapping the foot from below and firmly holding it in position. The single rubber piece protection randing around the toe area is a highly effective tension system at the same time. The advantage of the single piece is that there are no interruptions, like in multi-piece constructions, and it follows and adapts pefectly to the dynamics of foot movements.

CTS-Combined Tension System

The CTS is a combination of elastic tension rubber that controls the length of the shoe and soft high friction rubber that surrounds the forefoot.

The soft M50 rubber evenly distributes power around the toe area and reduces pressure on the little toes. The harder tension rubber supports the big toe area and inside edging zone and is directly connected to the heel. The result is outstanding strength and precision on small footholds.

PAF SYSTEM

PAF is an innovative heel system that helps both spread the force of the heel tension and increase the fit of the heel. The aggressive tension-rubber is interrupted behind the heel to reduce pressure on the achilles tendon and connected with softer rubber, that works like a bridge and allows full adaption to the shape of the heel. The holes on the side of the heel indicate the tension applied, which varies between 1 hole for light tension, 2 holes for mid tension and 3 holes for strong tension.

SRT SURROUND RUBBER TENSION

SRT is the core technology of the Soft Line model. It is a layer of our ultra-soft M50 rubber that wraps around the forefoot and translates the power directly to the tips of the toes. It also provides maximum friction and sensitivity for toe-hooking. Climbing with soft shoes improves one’s climbing style and naturally strengthens toe power. The total freedom of foot placement stimulates a faster and more dynamic movement on rock or plastic.

D2 Rubber

D2 is a fusion of two rubber compounds, M50 and M70, avoiding overlapping. It combines the adaptability of M50 with the containment and precision of M70. This rubber combination is perfect for use on toe rands and above the toes.

M70 Rubber

M70 is a rubber compound, developed with Davos®, that offers good levels of adaptability and containment in the same time. This rubber compound gives a Shore A rating of 70, making it perfect for use on toe rands and strategic positioning around the shoe upper.

M50 Rubber

M50 is our softest rubber compound offering the best levels of adaptability to the natural curves of the foot and toes. This morphing rubber compound, developed with Davos®, gives a Shore A rating of 50, making it perfect for use in our SRT system, toe patches and strategic positioning around the shoe upper.

S72 Rubber

S72 is a high friction rubber, developed and tested by SCARPA and Davos®. This soft compound gives a Shore A rating of 72, making it very adaptable to any surface and providing an excellent mechanical keying effect. S72 works equally well on rock and on Indoor walls.

TPS

TPS is a 3D molded insert positioned under the forefoot. It provides a customized, anatomical fit to the front area of the shoe. The main benefits of the TPS are: a better support for the toes when pushing down hard, improved pulling capabilities and last, but not least, increased precision. When smearing, the TPS becomes extended so that it does not constrain movement and in doing so it helps to increase the area of the sole in contact with the rock.

REB

We combined the upper elastic band of the classic slipper design with the innovative rubber-string system to create the REB and offer a dependable and long-lasting fit. All SCARPA ski boots are measured in Mondo sizing. SCARPA ski boots break on the half size, this means that a half size shares the same shell length as the whole size above it but the liners are lasted for each ½ size. For example, a 25.5 and 26.0 are the same shell size but the respective liners come pre-molded to the half size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

Return shipments will be accepted only by telephone agreement and „FREI HAUS“, otherwise acceptance will be refused.

A delivery bill with the following information must be enclosed to guarantee fast processing: 1. Sender address 2. Shipping date 3. Delivery note number 4. Model name and size of the sent item 5. Complaints/repairs can be made after prior notice with our complaint form and photos by mail to office@scarpa.at and then assigned complaint number at https://gls-returns.eu/#/uhlguenter by GLS label to be delivered to the nearest GLS parcel store. If you have any questions about the handling, please contact our customer service. It is important that our return form is enclosed with all complaints and that the products arrive cleaned.
