21st century leadership in tech, climate change, people culture and global trade: This is Outer Thinking Welcome to the Swedish-British Summit 2020 – the number one meeting place of our business communities. This is the second edition of a yearly tradition, bringing together the greatest thinkers from both sides of the North Sea for cross border discussions on 21st century leadership. How do we lead in a world where brands, business models and processes are constantly developing at an increasing pace? “Nothing will go as slow as this ever again”, as our Master of Ceremonies said at Outer Thinking last year. This year, we have also been presented with unusual events. With an ongoing pandemic, a financial crisis and a new relationship between the EU and the UK only weeks away, leaders have needed to show both strength, resilience and agility to navigate through these extraordinary times. Today, we are bringing together an eminent line-up of business leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians and academics from both Britain and Sweden, to exchange ideas around the greater trends facing us – from disruptive tech to climate change, people culture and global trade. Our hope is that these discussions will be inspiring and bring fresh perspectives to our joint challenges, and that we keep the conversation going when we meet in other constellations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for making this summit possible and also our partners for the support. The Swedish Chamber of Commerce is a platform for business to grow and develop and connect across the North Sea. We have helped businesses since 1906 and will continue to the current and future needs of the Swedish-British business community.

“Terrible idea.” That’s what they said, but 61 years later the seatbelt has saved over 1 million lives. So not that terrible after all. Ideas that change the world are often the most controversial. In 2020, we introduced speed limits on all new cars. As the next step, we will introduce in-car cameras to help prevent intoxicated and distracted driving. For everyone’s safety.
