Irvine Chinese School

Irvine Chinese School students typically range from the ages of five to eighteen, but adult classes are also offered. The current enrollment is over a thousand students; each of these students were carefully placed into one of fourteen grades, depending on their placement test and their original Chinese aptitude. For all grades, a language arts course is a required curriculum. The course includes: instructions in traditional phonetics, Han Yu Pin-Yin, writing, grammar, punctuation, conversation, customs, folklore, and other aspects of Chinese culture. In addition, we offer a variety of elective classes, like Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese chess, crafts, carton, performing arts, computer typing (IQ Chinese), and sports. ICS also offers a program designed for high school students that allows them to earn five credits each semester.
