REWIND

PORTFOLIO OF TANG YONG QI

I will always write in my diary everyday . My diary is basically describing about my feelings, experiences and last but not least is the pictures that i took for memories The reason for it is because I love to rewind to the past and take a look back at the memories that I have experience in my entire life Just like my artworks, I wanted people to take a look at my piece of art so that they can feel the process of my works.

My name is Cherise Tunggal ( Tang Yong Qi ), I was born in Medan, Indonesia. I’m 18 years old and I’m currently studying at Shih Chien University in the Department of Media Communication Design

EXPLORING MY FINE ART TREASURY

A GLIMPSE OF MY LIFE

For the first project, I’m painting everything that is related to myself, such as the butterfly wings, this drawing has a meaning of a social butterfly person and by looking at the butterfly pattern, the pattern is describing my country’s traditional shirt which is called batik. And also, I drew a lot of things that are related to my country, I wanted to introduce and share my country’s tradition internationally

When I drew a sketch of this project , I really struggle a lot since I did not know what else should I add into my painting, because it’s my first time drawing on such a large piece of paper. So i try to doodle it in my sketchbook mulitple times and finally , I got an idea which is to introduce more about the cultures of my country.

In the second project, I want to express about the warmest feeling that I got from my family eventhough sometimes their love is hurting me too. So by that, I made a small house with bamboos, when you got inside the house, it makes you feel like someone is hugging you. This is what I felt everyday when I’m at home, but sometimes it seems like the love towards me was too much. It is like I‘m being overprotected because they care too much for me and thinking that what they are choosing is the best for my life. So sometimes I feel that the pressure that i get was too much

I spent alot of days making this work of art. To have a better result , I fixed and change a lot of my designs. I feel that staying up late for days making this structure is worth it because it turns out good and on the presentation day the comments of the judges are all good too

In the third project, I want to talked about my relationship with my mom. we often argue because we have different opinions. She got her own ego and i got mine too. So by that, i want to make a story whereas a little girl is having an argument with the mom, so she locked herself up in her room and sleep. As she was sleeping, she dream that her mom turned into a scary monster When she woke up she then realized her mistake and soon apologized to her mom

This is the hardest project because it’s our final project for the first semester. I need to cut a lot of characters and the surroundings of my story. Also I need to make sure that the sketch that I drew is correct to avoid incorrect silhouettes

Last but not least , the behind the scenes that only our group members knows how hard it is to memorize each other's stories and to perform it well. Day by day we practiced a lot to make the best performance. I am really thankful for all of Huang and Qu group members, we all did a great job in this project.

SELF POTRAIT

Since I came late to Taiwan, I got an assignment to draw a self potrait diary. It’s kind of challenging for me because I’ve never draw my own face before But day by day I got the feelings of live drawing, so i take a look at myself in the mirror and draw myself directly in my sketchbook.

I am very grateful that my drawing was chosen to be displayed in Min Chu Ting, I felt so happy since I’ve spent a lot of time and a lot of effort doing this painting
