The Education Committee is reponsible for planning the agenda for the Annual Exeuctive Educational Conference held in September of each year.

The Marketing Committee is responsible for identifying opportunities and developing materials for the SCCIA.

The Palmetto Captive Award was presented to Michael J. Coulter, ARM, Deputy Managing Director in charge of the South Carolina based operations of Aon Insurance Managers. SCCIA’s Palmetto Captive Award recognizes a person who has shown exemplary efforts within the captive industry and South Carolina as the leading domicile. Mike joined Aon in 1996 and has been based in South Carolina since 2008. Prior to coming to South Carolina, Mike managed the Hawaii office of Aon Insurance Managers for five years. During his time with Aon, Mike has experience in managing captives under the laws and regulations of a number of domiciles, including: Hawaii, Vermont, Bermuda, Arizona and South Carolina. Mike served as Chair of the Education Committee of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association and was recently elected to the SCCIA Board of Directors with a term beginning in January 2012.
