Southern Africa & Victoria Falls The world-renowned Garden Route along South Africa’s beautiful Cape coastline, the equally impressive Panorama Route deep in South Africa’s interior, Table Mountain, Cape Town, the stunning Kruger National Park and, of course, the legendary Victoria Falls. There’s simply nothing to add to any description of this remarkable region, these are wonders that speak for themselves. South Africa The splendours of South Africa beckon, and here you’ll find a very different wilderness, and completely new encounters. Some of it is hilly, and carpeted in veldt – leopard country, where lightning rules supreme. Here gnarly trees stand up bravely to breathtaking summer storms. Then there’s the rolling highveldt, with a wealth of natural wonder held protectively in the preserve of the nation’s renowned Kruger National Park. And beyond that, there is so much to be discovered – a unique and compelling history, cities that are a distinct amalgam of cultures, and landscapes that shift beguilingly from one province to the next.
D
Victoria Falls There’s nothing quite like standing in front of the world’s largest sheet of falling water, which rises up to 108 metres high and spans a gorge carved out of a flat plateau. Victoria Falls, although rightly considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, isn’t just a spectacular natural feature, it’s also a place of immense spiritual strength and beauty. David Livingstone, the first European to witness the magnificence of Victoria Falls, best described it as a scene ‘gazed upon by angels in their flight’.

A trip to Kenya and Tanzania is the stuff safari dreams are made of. Mass wildebeest migrations so momentous that the ground thunders underfoot, lakes painted pink with flamingos, the snow-capped peak of Africa’s highest mountain – these are just some of the wondrous sights on display.
The romance of ‘Out of Africa’
The greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth The Masai Mara is home to 95 species of animals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 species of birds. The annual Great Migration from July to September attracts over a million wildebeest, zebra and impala, a phenomenon that has to be seen to be appreciated. Mountains high and craters deep Enjoy marvellous views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world, as massive herds of elephants migrate across the dry plains of Amboseli National Park. Shift your gaze downwards to the incredible vistas over Ngorongoro Crater, known as ‘Africa’s Eden’. Even more spectacular than the views from above is a game drive along the crater floor among an unparalleled concentration of wildlife, including the highest density of predators in all of Africa.
Experience the romance of Out of Africa as you visit Karen Blixen’s house just outside Nairobi, at the foot of the Ngong Hills. A special treat awaits – quite literally – as you get to feed giraffes, then visit the tea gardens where tea was first commercially grown in Kenya.

The Okavango Delta At its peak the Okavango Delta can expand to an area of more than 16,000 square kilometres. Explore a paradise where herds of elephants, giraffes and gazelles gather at the water’s edge, and take a front row seat for all the action in one of the world’s most fascinating wetlands. Chobe National Park With the world’s largest concentration of elephants, Chobe is another African jewel that should be on every bucket list. Expect encounters beyond the ordinary, as herds of these massive yet elegant creatures are in evidence everywhere. An environment unlike any other There are no deserts anywhere quite like the ancient Kalahari, or the dazzling Namib. These unique ecosystems are home to some of the most distinctive fauna on the planet, for every species that resides here has had to find ways to adapt to the challenges of this uniquely waterless world.
Unique game viewing Etosha, meaning the ‘great white place’, is set on a huge, flat calcrete pan. With its stark and striking backdrops, it’s a national park quite unlike any in Africa. You’ll get to view quintessentially Namibian wildlife such as the orix, and animals as rare as the endangered black rhino. Surprising settlements While most visit Namibia to explore its natural wonders, you’ll find yourself taken by the towns you encounter along the way, from the capital Windhoek, established by German colonial settlers, to the coastal city of Swakopmund, wedged between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert.

A host of wonders awaits on this journey through Jordan, steeped in ancient treasures. It’s easy to see why Lawrence of Arabia was seduced by this jewel. Nothing will quite prepare you for its arresting beauty. Ancient marvels In Jordan, slices of the past collide. Follow in the footsteps of Roman emperors, Egyptian pharaohs, Bedouins and prophets. Created in the Bronze Age, Jerash has been inhabited for more than 6,500 years. In Amman, the ancient citadel stands over the city, while Madaba is famous for its Byzantine-era mosaics. See where the baptism of Jesus reputedly took place at Bethany Beyond the Jordan, or where Moses stood on Mount Nebo, looking at the Promised Land. Natural and man-made wonders The ancient ghost city of Petra, carved inside rose-red sandstone rock, is a World Heritage-listed Site full of hidden secrets and architectural marvels. The rock-cut
facades, including the 2,000 year old Treasury, will send shivers down your spine. You will understand why Indiana Jones came here looking for the Holy Grail. Desert romance The Wadi Rum desert, made famous by Lawrence of Arabia, boasts blazing red sands, dramatic rock formations and sandstone mountains. Uninhabited except for Bedouin nomads and villagers who have lived there for thousands of years, its haunting stillness and stark beauty is omnipresent. The nights are so clear you will feel like you can touch the stars.

Cape Town to Okavango Delta 23 Day Tour
Cape Town > Kasane
Moments of wild wonder The Okavango Delta is a remote, water-locked wonderland. Here you’ll find African wildlife in enormous abundance. In this alternate dimension, human beings have no foothold, and their presence here can be just as surprising to the many creatures that call the delta home. Many hundreds of bird species flock to these waters and thousands of animals are drawn to the banks daily. The Moremi Game Reserve occupies the east and central areas of the region. Here, dugout canoes are used to navigate past hippos, elephants and crocodiles. You’ll soon find yourself immersed in a different world entirely. Make the most of it, and capture those moments of wild wonder at their most authentic.

Luxor Hot Air Balloon Flight
When it comes to viewing Victoria Falls, a helicopter is undoubtedly the best vantage point. At ground level you can feel the enormous power of the falls as the volumes of water pound into the chasm below. But it is only when you see them from the air that you can take in the whole panorama and enormity of this mighty spectacle. Known as the ‘flight of angels’ it is easy to understand why a helicopter ride over Victoria Falls is named after a heavenly experience as you take in the view of the thundering water below and the natural wildlife in the surrounding bush. This is a truly remarkable experience.
Your adventure begins just before dawn. As the sun’s golden glow tinges the eastern horizon, the ground crew help you board your hot air balloon for a spectacular one hour flight. Take in the stunning panorama of the vast Masai Mara, famous for its black-maned lion and the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. Your hot air balloon will silently soar over the Masai Mara eco-system and the snaking Mara River, with its vast rolling acacia and shrub studded grassland, rivers, forests, hills and escarpments. Magnificent scenery, which stretches as far the eye can see, with a constant pageant of wildlife, all unfolding before you during this awe-inspiring flight.
See the sun rise over ancient monuments on this exhilarating hot air balloon ride. Your adventure begins just before dawn as you board your hot air balloon for a spectacular 45 minute flight. Rise over the fertile green farm lands and soak in the panorama of the mountains of the Valley of the Kings as the sun peaks over the east bank of the Nile River. See Hatshepsut’s temple, float over the Colossi of Memnon and gaze at the impressive Temple of Ramses III bathed in the sun’s golden glow. Across the Nile, see the columns of Karnak and Luxor temples greet the early morning sun as these magnificent vistas unfold before your very eyes.
