Hear that? It’s nature calling!

Home to six National Parks, ancient UNESCO World Heritage-listed Gondwana rainforests, magnificent waterfalls, scenic mountain ranges, waterways and lakes, the Scenic Rim is nature at its best.

It’s the perfect place to connect, watch a sunrise, hike for five minutes or five hours, take a hot air balloon and soar over the patchwork of paddocks, or just breathe. Put simply, the region’s natural beauty is the perfect accoutrement to Eat Local Month and there’s something for all ages!

The region is home to 100s of nature-based activities. At Thunderbird Park on Tamborine Mountain, there’s everything from short walks and Thunderegg fossicking, to high ropes and the all-new Dig It Mini Excavator Park, or you can fly through the trees on Australia's largest Zipline canopy tour! Just down the road there’s the stunning Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk (a must do). For those who really like heights, there’s hot air ballooning across the region - and also parasailing!

Picnic lovers - this is your nirvana! There’s beautiful parks, mountainside lookouts, hidden trails and stunning roadside spots beside paddocks of green for the ultimate picnic. Remember, fill your esky locally!

For water lovers - the region’s lakes, dams and waterways allow skiing, kayaking, jet skis and fishing (check the SEQ Water website for details).

O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, Binna Burra Lodge and Mount Barney Lodge all host a range of educative and inspiring activities, workshops, walks and talks – including hosted hikes, night walks, bird watching walks and bush tucker experiences; allowing everyone to breathe a little deeper and respect Mother Nature just that little more.
