Editor’s Letter Welcome to the first issue of EmeraldEXPLORER, a magazine produced exclusively for Emerald Waterway's loyal guests. This year Emerald Waterways celebrates our fifth birthday. I can hardly believe it has been five years since we launched, how time flies when you are having fun! And what an amazing five years it has been, with our constantly expanding collection of destinations and new Star-Ships, we certainly haven’t been resting on our oars. Speaking of shiny new Star-Ships, this issue sees us launching Emerald Harmony, our beautiful new ship which will be found sailing the magical Mekong River from August 2019. Also in this issue, we take a look at what else is new for 2019, with our European Combination Cruises and our two new exciting Danube itineraries to peruse. We also uncover the delights of Egypt and discover the many charms of Russia within our featured destination guides. In addition, a few members of our Manchester based team tell us what they love most about our ships and their favourite destinations to explore, and we learn of our collection of European festive cruises. We hope you enjoy this issue of EmeraldEXPLORER and we look forward to seeing you on one of our Star-Ships again soon. And don’t forget to share your Emerald Waterways experiences with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

THE RADIANT DOURO Known for abundant sunshine and a temperate Mediterranean climate, the Iberian Peninsula consistently offers some of the best weather in all of Europe. It was in celebration of these brilliant conditions that we christened our StarShip custom-built to sail Portugal’s Douro River, the Emerald Radiance. With a capacity of just 112 guests, the Radiance provides an intimate environment for cruising along the beautiful vineyards and quaint, rural villages for which the region is known, all while providing signature comforts such as generouslyappointed suites and a roof-top Serenity Pool. On Secrets of the Douro, sail roundtrip Porto, stopping at quintessential sites along the UNESCO World Heritage Douro Valley including Pinhão and Régua. Continue on to Spain, where you’ll tour the ancient-but-thriving Roman city of Salamanca. With options to extend in both Lisbon & Madrid, cruising with Emerald Waterways is the perfect way to explore the best of the peninsula while kicking back and enjoying a fine Port. Our 8-day Classic Danube itinerary, departing on just two dates during July and August, begins in the Bavarian city of Nuremberg, where an included sightseeing coach tour passes by the 900-year-old ramparts, the Justice Palace and the Nazi party rally grounds. Then, in Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities, you’ll explore the many architectural highlights during an included walking tour. In Passau, the opportunity to stroll through the old town’s narrow alleys is sure to delight, as is the spectacular view of the hilltop Oberhaus Fortress from the town below and a visit to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a wonderful example of Baroque architecture and home to Europe’s largest church organ with over 17,000 pipes. Onwards to Austria and the country’s third-largest city, Linz, where a remarkable combination of culture and industry promises a diverse discovery. In Melk, the city’s 900-year-old Benedictine Abbey precedes a remarkable Page 6

THE DALMATIAN COAST YACHT CRUISE
Page 8
Island hopping with Emerald Waterways. by Pip O’Connor
The dramatic coastline of Dalmatia is so much more than the beautiful azure waters of the Adriatic Sea. The region’s history stretches back centuries to the Illyrians, Romans, Greeks, Slavs, Austro-Hungarians and Venetians, all of whom had a lasting impact on its heritage, be that culturally or architecturally. Running from the northern coast of Croatia to the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, the Dalmatian coast promises some of Europe’s most dramatic shorelines, as well as antiquated villages and rugged wilderness which have, somehow, retained their character as urbanization sets in. Croatia’s mainland and its surrounding islands are best explored by ship, hopping from one pristine island to the next, punctuating explorations of spectacular fortified towns with the adoption of the outdoor café culture that the climate invites. Join Emerald Waterways as we navigate this picturesque coastal passage on-board our exclusively chartered luxury yacht, the MS Swallow, as part of our handcrafted 8-day The Islands of Dalmatia itinerary. From Split to Dubrovnik, it is the perfect choice for guests who seek a combination of guided excursions and time to explore independently. We’ve handpicked a range of included excursions as well as selecting some of the most insightful experiences to feature as part of our signature EmeraldPLUS and EmeraldACTIVE programs.
Page 9
The MS Swallow Launching in 2019, the MS Swallow is a first for Emerald Waterways. Just one of many beautiful things about this exquisite yacht is the fact it is specifically designed to navigate the small ports of the Dalmatian coast, which others of its size cannot. All the destination highlights will be on your doorstep and our knowledgeable crew will be at your service to advise along the way. You’ll be amazed at the diversity of with every stop. Only an intimate 18 cabins, all with en-suite baths, make room for 36 guests, while loungers and deck chairs on the sun deck encourage you to enjoy the Mediterranean sun in comfort. Features even include specially fitted pool ladders, which make slipping into the sea for a swim or snorkel easy and safe for guests.
A friendly welcome on board will mark the beginning of your adventure, where excellent dining and complimentary wine, beer or soft drinks with meals, really bring this paradise to life. In your spacious floating boutique hotel, you’ll only need to unpack once, meaning you can really settle into life in your sumptuous cabin, leaving you more time to get to know your fellow guests and enjoy the blissful panoramas. With the opportunity to hop off the yacht in every port, we thought we’d inspire you with our top picks of the destinations we visit.
Hvar Known for its lavender fields and thriving night life, Hvar is often considered ‘the queen of the Dalmatian islands. But, as well as being a popular hang-out for the rich and famous, Hvar has much to offer in the way of beauty. While you’re here, take time to visit the World Heritage-listed Stari Page 10
Grad Plain. A patchwork network of grape and olive vines cultivated over two-and-a-half-thousand years ago by the Greeks, and where a proud winemaking history started life, look out for some of the country’s finest wines while you’re here.
Split One of the Adriatic’s most vibrant port cities and the biggest in Croatia, Split is perfectly placed between the mountains and the sea. As the cultural center of the Dalmatian coast, thousands are tempted to its shores because of its proximity to the sea and the city center's well-preserved ancient landmarks. The Diocletian’s Palace, a World Heritagelisted fortified palace constructed at the turn of the 4th century is a must-see. When you’re not stepping back in time, a picturesque
walk up Marjan Hill promises spectacular views of the region's natural beauty.
Dubrovnik Find out exactly what it was about Dubrovnik that made George Bernard Shaw say “those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik”, during your stay in ‘the pearl of the Adriatic’. Marvel at its exquisitely preserved landmarks, like that of the 14th century Franciscan Monastery and the ancient Rector’s Palace, with its sensational cloister, and walk the city walls for views over the Adriatic Sea. The Dalmatian Coast is true beauty of Eastern Europe, made all the more special with Emerald Waterways.
TAKE ME THERE... Let us take you on an adventure to the magnificent Dalmatian coast. Enjoy free or reduced airfares to Croatia from the US when you book by June 28, 2019. For more information visit emeraldwaterways.com or call us at 877.796.8403 Page 11

It’s your vacation, you should be relaxing and enjoying yourself! When in France… well, when in France, you’re going to indulge in the unbelievable food and wine. At Emerald Waterways, we realize that is an important part of your cruise. We also realize that you’ll want to get off the ship, explore and dive into the culture firsthand. This creates opportunities for adventurous, dynamic travel. As of April 2019, all StarShips will have a dedicated Activity Manager coordinating onboard fitness classes, onshore excursions and evening entertainment. All itineraries include at least one unique EmeraldACTIVE activity, so keep your eyes peeled when traveling and don’t miss out! Here are some of our personal favorites to give you an idea of what your trip might have in store.
On the Danube
Starting in Durnstein, bike a scenic (mostly flat) 23-mile route through the rolling vineyards and quaint towns of the Wachau Valley. Stop for lunch on the banks of the Danube before continuing on to the next docking site in Melk. Once in Budapest, you’ll also have the chance to take a guided hike up the winding, cobblestone streets of the famous Castle Hill. You’ll work up a sweat, but spectacular views from the top make the effort well worth it.
On the Main
After exploring the medieval town center of Wertheim, continue on a guided walk to the spectacular 14-century castle on the town’s outskirts. Learn more about Wertheim’s rich history and traditions from your expert guide along the way.
In Baden-Badens, hike to Altes Schloss for eerie dungeons, enigmatic hallways and stunning views. Although largely a ruin, the site remains a wonderful place to explore on foot, and an EmeraldACTIVE guided tour will provide you with everything you need to know about its 900-year history.
On the Douro
Get closer to the water and feel the Iberian sun shine down on Portugal. Venture out in a personal canoe with your EmeraldACTIVE guide and explore the hidden coves of this charming waterway.
On the Rhône
Beyond medieval Tournon lies the terraced slopes of the Côtes du Rhône, one of France’s most esteemed wine-making appellations. An EmeraldACTIVE vineyard hike from the river’s edge to the valley’s summit will allow you to take in the fragrant fresh air and warm, Mediterranean breeze. Reward your climb with a post-hike tasting session.
On the Rhine
Germany’s Black Forest is legendary. Starting in Breisach, enjoy an hour-long nature walk through these mysterious woods, conjuring images of the Brothers Grimm fairytales of your childhood.

PRAGUE Welcome to Prague, Capital of Bohemia by Michael Norton
Despite a surge in tourism in recent years, Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, continues to fly largely under the radar compared to many of Europe’s more well-known capitals. This is great news for you, signaling a lack of crowds and more bang for your buck when travelling. As the capital of ancient Bohemia—formerly a kingdom of the Holy Roman Empire and later part of the Hapsburg Empire—Prague is replete with history, culture and striking architecture. It was voted number 11 on Trip Advisor’s 2019 list of Top 25 Destinations globally, and for anyone who has visited this Central European gem before, it’s easy to see why. From the magical castle standing constant watch over the city to the lively beer halls playing a central role in local life, here are a few of our top reasons for visiting Prague in 2019. Karlův Most and the Prague Castle Complex In our humble opinion, the best way to see Prague and truly take in the city is to walk it. Start in the Old Town Square and walk to Prague Castle (approximately one mile), crossing Karlův Most or Charles Bridge en route. Much like the castle, Charles Bridge is a Prague landmark and an absolute must-see. The historic bridge was built starting in 1357 and is lined with 30 Baroque statues depicting various prominent saints. Since its construction in the 9th century, Prague Castle has witnessed a lot of history. From the kings of Bohemia to the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire to the presidents of Czechoslovakia, the castle has remained constant in an often-turbulent region as the undisputed seat of power. Even today, it’s now the official office of the Czech President. Rulers comes and go, yet Prague Castle endures. More than a singular building, Prague Castle is actually an impressive collection of churches, palaces, gardens, halls, towers and monuments. In many ways, it is a city in and of itself. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, it is the “largest coherent castle complex in the world” at 753,500 square feet. You could spend a whole day exploring the ins and outs of Prague Castle, but there is one attraction here that you can’t miss: St. Vitus Cathedral. At the center of Prague Castle stands the Gothic masterpiece known as St. Vitus Cathedral. The cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Prague and at 317 feet tall, it towers over the city below. For unmatched views, climb the cathedral’s South Tower – the 280 steps present a challenge, but the effort Page 14
DESTINATION GUIDE
Page 15
is well worth it. You’ll also want to catch the changing of the guard in the castle’s first courtyard at 12:00 daily. Na Zdraví (Cheers!) Beer aficionados rejoice! You’ve found a new home in the Czech Republic as the country with the highest beer consumption per capita in the world. Beer has a long and fascinating history here, with brewing originating in Czech monasteries as early as the 1st century AD. With its roots deeply entwined in brewing, beer consumption continues to form a pillar of Czech social life today. At the center of this tradition stands the beer hall. You’ll find first-rank beer halls throughout Prague, and while your experience will vary slightly depending on which you chose to visit, you can expect spirited communal drinking, classic Czech food offerings like goulash and sauerkraut, and crisp, classic Pilsners. One of our personal favorites is U Fleků, which has been brewing continuously for over 500 years. Grab a seat on one of the long wooden benches between people who we can only Page 16
assume are soon to become your new best friends, and na zdraví! To top things off, here’s a list of the top 10 Czech beers to help you decide what to order, courtesy of the American Friends of the Czech Republic (and don’t worry about the pronunciations, they’ll catch your drift): 1. Staropramen 2. Pilsner Urquell 3. Krušovice 4. Budweiser (no relation to the American version) 5. Velkopopovický Kozel 6. Velvet 7. Gambrinus 8. Bernard 9. Herold 10. Branik
If spirits are more your style, fear not. Prague is also known for absinthe, commonly referred to as the “green fairy.” Though there are many misconceptions around absinthe due largely to the fact that it was banned in the U.S. for many years, in reality, it is not much different from other liquors. Absinthe does have a high alcohol content, which is where problems can arise for those who don’t drink responsibly. Flavored with anise and sweet fennel, absinthe has a distinct and often polarizing licorice taste. Whether or not it’s for you remains to be seen, but we definitely recommend giving it a try at least once! Most bars in the city carry at least a few labels, and many have developed specialty cocktails with absinthe as the primary ingredient. A bar by the name of The Absintherie ONLY serves different varieties of absinthe, and despite being a tad touristy, is definitely worth a visit.
Old Town Square and Its Markets Aside from the castle, Prague’s Old Town Square is perhaps the most photographed location in a very photogenic city. The iconic square displays a stunning mix of architectural styles, from the Gothic Church of Our Lady to the Baroque St. Nicholas Church. Though all impressive buildings in their own right, the astronomical clock gracing the side of the Old Town Hall is the undisputed star of the show. Built in 1410, the astronomical clock is still
operating today. If you time your visit precisely, you can witness the four figures flanking the clock (Vanity, Greed, Death and Lust, respectively) set into motion and ring in the new hour. Time your visit even more precisely and you be in Prague for the Old Town Square’s famous markets. Consistently ranked among the best in the world, Prague hosts traditional, medieval markets at both Christmas and Easter.

DESTINATION GUIDE
MOTHER RUSSIA by Michael Norton
Sail the Volga to uncover the country's charms and discover the mysteries of a land where East meets West. Cloaked behind the Iron Curtain for decades, Russia, its people and culture seemed worlds apart; however, in the years following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia steadily modernized and took steps to rejoin the Western World. Today, Russia presents a unique fusion of East and West, past and present. Centuries-old traditions remain very much intact, architecture strongly reflects Imperial influence, and the people still carry the weight of their shared history. At the same time, there is a noticeable cultural revolution happening here. Contemporary art, high fashion and culinary innovation now coexist with history, allowing long-forgotten cities like Saint Petersburg and Moscow to reclaim their spot alongside continental capitals. From the grandeur of these major metropolises to the charm of the countryside’s quaint villages, you’ll experience Mother Russia in all of her majesty aboard the exclusively-charted MS Rossia on our 12-day Imperial Charms of Russia cruise. Begin your journey with four nights on the Baltic Sea in the Imperial capital of Saint Petersburg before sailing to the picturesque village of Mandrogi. Continue along the Volga through the Russian countryside with visits to Lake Onega, Kizhi, Goritsy, Yaroslavl and Uglich before ending with two nights in Moscow, Russia’s cosmopolitan capital. Saint Petersburg Founded by Tsar Peter I (more commonly known as Peter the Great for his comprehensive reforms) in 1703, Saint Petersburg acted as the capital of Imperial Russia until the Russian Revolution of 1917 when the capital moved to Moscow. Historically, as a port city located on the Baltic Sea, Saint Petersburg served not only as the Russian Empire’s economic hub, but also as its center for the transference of Western thought. That legacy persists today, as the city remains one of Russia’s most modern as well as its cultural capital. Highlights of Saint Petersburg include a trip down Nevsky Prospekt—the city’s main promenade, lined with historic monuments and beautiful buildings of all styles—and views of the awe-inspiring Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, built on the site of Emperor Alexander II’s 1881 assassination. Don’t worry, gleaming mosaics, sparkling marble, and colorful onion domes make it easy to forget the church’s tumultuous beginnings. You’ll also visit the Hermitage Museum, a Russian landmark comparable to the Louvre in terms of its impressive collection. Formerly known as the Winter Palace, the Hermitage served as home to the tsars for centuries. Today, it houses nearly three million works of art, many of which date as far back as Catherine II. Page 25
"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." - Leo Tolstoy
Aside from its monuments, churches and museums, Saint Petersburg is very much a living city, ready for exploration. With an entire free day in port, you’ll have ample opportunity to become better acquainted with modern Russian culture on your own terms. Mandrogi Along the northern shores of Lake Ladoga, Europe’s largest lake, lies the Karelian mill town of Mandrogi (Karelia referring to a geographic, cultural and political region in northwest Russia of historic significance to Swedes, Fins and Russians alike). Completely destroyed by German bombing in WWII, Mandrogi has since been restored to its former glory, and beyond, to represent an idealized version of Russia’s idyllic, pastoral past. The “secret village you never knew existed,” Mandrogi today is a picturesque fairy-town dotted with colorful “izbas,”—the Russian equivalent of gingerbread houses—windmills, cobblestone streets lined with horse-drawn carriages, and shops selling Matryoshka dolls and other folk items. Located in a dense forest along the River Svir, Mandrogi is the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts, with activities ranging from bird watching to biking. It’s also the perfect stop for a traditional “banya” before taking a dip in the river’s icy waters. Last but not least, it’s a place to stay hydrated and entertained: the village’s Vodka Museum features over 2,000 labels from all over the country. In short, Mandrogi is your real-life time machine to simpler times. Kizhi Next stop on your Russian grand tour: Kizhi. Kizhi is one of those destinations that you see a picture of and immediately think, “I simply must go there.” Located Page 26
on Lake Onega, Europe’s second-largest lake, Kizhi is a small island with a fascinating history. Once considered a “pogost,” or parish center, it was a place of substantial import for the Karelian people, as is attested by the breathtaking Church of the Transfiguration. Built in 1714 and now considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the church is famous not only for its unconventional beauty but also the fact that it was constructed without using a single nail! View the church’s onion domes up close and personal and snap the photo of a lifetime on a guided walking tour of the Kizhi Architecture Ensemble, which includes an entire collection of remarkably-preserved 18-century wooden structures. Goritsy Welcome to the Volga River and the tranquil village of Goritsy. Known for its famed Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery (translated as “White Lake” Monastery), one of the “New Seven Wonders of Russia,” Goritsy is a traditional town with a deep spiritual history. Founded at the end of the 14th century by a monk named Kirill, the monastery was, at one time, the second-largest in all of Russia and a favorite of tsars including Ivan the Terrible. Forced to secularize after the Revolution, the monastery now functions primarily as a state museum. Monks were allowed to return to the Ivanovsky priory in 1994, however, and the monastery’s imposing fortress walls, beautiful architecture and position along the river continue to impress and inspire a sense of divine intervention. Yaroslavl Situated at the confluence of the Volga and Kotorosl, Yaroslavl forms part of the “Golden Ring of Russia” – a handful of ancient cities arranged in a ring-like pattern
northeast of Moscow that held tremendous influence during Imperial times. The towns of the Golden Ring are among the most picturesque in all of Russia, and have some of the best examples of its famous onion domes. Yaroslavl is considered the unofficial capital of the Golden Ring and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Believed to have been founded as early as 1010 AD by Yaroslavl the Wise, it is home to the 12th-century Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior as well as the 17th-century Church of St. Ilya the Prophet, an incredible structure whose interior is filled with some of the most impressive frescoes in all of Russia. Uglich Further west, but also a part of Russia’s Golden Ring, lies the town of Uglich. Throughout its thousandyear history, Uglich was used by Russian monarchs to launch attacks on invading Tatars and Poles. Today, it is an important pilgrimage destination for many Orthodox Russians and is perhaps bestrecognized for its green-domed Transfiguration Cathedral. Enjoy a walking tour of the Cathedral and the city’s Kremlin before continuing on to the Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood. Moscow Few cities have the ability to modernize as rapidly and effectively as this capital while maintaining an Old-World charm and sense
of authenticity. Considered Russia’s heart and soul, Moscow wears its storied heritage proudly and still reflects many vestiges of its Communist past, from the abundant “Socialist-Classicism”-style architecture to the imposing Lenin Mausoleum, situated in Red Square. At the same time, its Imperial grandeur is reflected in iconic landmarks such as St. Basil’s Cathedral and the Kremlin, seat of the Russian government. Experience the full extent of Russia’s fascinating history through an in-depth exploration of present-day Moscow, including a visit to the Museum of Cosmonautics where you’ll speak with former cosmonauts and learn about Russia’s achievements in space exploration. “A riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma” – Winston Churchill in describing Russia

Though spoken decades ago, Churchill’s quote still perfectly summarizes how it feels to travel Russia. Much like the onion, represented ubiquitously in its iconic domes, Russia’s culture and people come in layers. Just when you’ve begun to understand the surface level, you discover there are myriad levels underneath, still to be explored. Pull back the first layer of the onion. Discover Russia on an Emerald Waterways river cruise.

MEET THE TEAM Page 28
Remi Bouin
If your idea of the perfect job involves getting out on the water or soaking up the culture and color of Europe, imagine combining the two as captain of an Emerald Waterways Star-Ship. We were eager to find out all there is to know about life on board, and who better to ask than captain of Emerald Liberté, Remi Bouin.
Where were you born? I was born into a farming family in the Loire Valley, France.
How did you become a cruise captain? It was totally by chance – my dream was to follow my dad and continue the family farm after him. Sailing became my passion during my training in Normandy. There were training courses for every kind of transport but I really loved the sailing course. I worked my way up from deckhand and after four years I qualified for an unlimited license to sail the biggest vessels on European rivers.
What do you love most about your job? Having sailed on river ships for over 15 years, I still enjoy every moment of my working day. One of the privileges as captain is witnessing the sunrise from the top deck because quite often, we are the only people awake! I love interacting with people from all over the world, showing them my country and telling them about the treasures that we have here in France. I love talking about history and geography, plus I learn from our guests as well.
What are your main responsibilities? Looking after the needs of 138 guests and managing 50 crew members on-board the specially commissioned Star-Ship. This makes every day full, but I love each aspect.
What’s the most challenging part of your job? Every river has its own challenges: low bridges, narrow locks, tough curves and passages and ledges, all of which can be difficult to deal with. However, one of the biggest challenges of sailing through cosmopolitan Europe is the language barrier.
Which Emerald Waterways cruise would you most like to experience? I would love to sail on the Douro in Portugal. The Douro Valley looks amazing! Arriving in Porto by the river would be pretty special. The Danube must be extraordinary too – Budapest, Vienna, all those wonderful cities. Actually, I’d like to cruise everywhere if I had the chance!
What do you enjoy doing when you get a chance to relax? I would love to visit more ports but there is always something to do on-board. If I have the chance to escape the ship, I love to run, particularly in Tournon sur Rhône. I often run to the top of the vineyards of Tain l’Hermitage or Saint Joseph for the great views of the ship and the Rhône Valley.

Flavours of Burgundy & Provence Great culinary experiences are at the heart of travel. That’s why for 2020, we are releasing a new itinerary on France’s Rhône River focusing on foodie tours and wine tastings. Sailing roundtrip Lyon, the 8-day Flavours of Burgundy & Provence will take you through the heart of this exceptional wine-making region, providing insight into all that goes into producing the gourmet products we know and love. Lyon, dubbed the “world capital of gastronomy,” is the perfect jumping off point for a cruise dedicated to wining and dining. Due to its prime location, Lyon enjoys easy access to all of the best ingredients France has to offer: fresh produce (and cheese!)
from nearby farms, fish from the Mediterranean, and wines from Beaujolais and the Rhône Valley – what more could a chef ask for? Your three days here include a guided tour of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage city center, including a visit to the legendary Les Halles de Lyon. Built in 1971, this prestigious indoor market is a one-stop-shop for the finest regional foodstuffs, from cured meats to gourmet chocolates. Alternatives to the walking tour include a guided bike ride through the city or an optional tour to nearby Pérouges.

SHARE YOUR
WORLD by Michael Norton

Travel opens the world to us while at the same time making it a much smaller place. It exposes us to new peoples and immerses us in new cultures. It provides a glimpse into the lives of others, helping us realize we are not so different. Sharing in others' experiences is one of the greatest benefits of travel, and with the advent of social media, we are now able to share our most impactful travel moments with a much greater audience. While social media can have its drawbacks, the ability to spread the joys of traveling is overwhelmingly positive. At Emerald Waterways, we LOVE seeing what our guests have been up to. It takes us out of the office and puts us right there with you on tour. “What did they get to eat at the Central Market in Budapest? How beautiful were the lights at the Christmas markets in Cologne?” These are the kinds of questions we have, and the kinds of images we long to see!
Because we realize the importance of sharing your travel experiences with others, we’re encouraging our guests to post more on social media. Share with your friends, share with your family, and share with us! Starting with the next issue of EmeraldEXPLORER, we will select one guest each quarter to highlight as an Emerald Waterways Social Superstar. As Social Superstar, your best photos will be featured in our Share Your World section for all of our readers to appreciate. Entering to become a Social Superstar is easy. Next time you’re on an Emerald Waterways cruise, simply tag your Instagram posts with @emeraldwaterways_us and #DiscoverMORE. Leave the rest to us. So, get out there: start shooting, start hashtagging and most importantly, start sharing your world.
