From excursions to electricity, luggage to the library, you’ll find everything you need to know about the facilities available to you and the best safety practices to use during your time on board. Please take a look through this directory, acquaint yourself with the ship’s features and familiarize yourself with your cabinthen it’s time to set sail!

Your cabin is individually climate controlled, with fresh air channelled directly from outside. The switch is located near the entry door. The air-conditioning is only operable when the balcony sliding door or the Sun Lounge window is closed. In the common areas of the ship the air-conditioning is set dependent on the season. To accommodate guest comfort levels, it is generally set at 20 degrees Celsius. Should you require further assistance, please feel free to contact reception on 400.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, please follow the instructions given by the captain. Alarm buttons can be found in your suite or stateroom and they should only be activated in an emergency. Please also review the safety instructions on the inside of your suite or stateroom door, and note that life jackets are located in your cabin.
BA light breakfast is available in the Horizon Bar & Lounge. Breakfast will be served in the Reflections Restaurant located on the Vista Deck. Please refer to the daily program for opening times.
There is no special dress code on board. Enjoy a casual atmosphere during the day both on excursion and on board.
For the evening meal, we would recommend smart-casual attire. Please note that shorts and thongs/flip-flops are not advised.
You will enjoy a number of special evenings during your time with us, such as the border crossing and farewell dinners. For these events you may wish to dress more formally.
For your land excursions, we recommend that you wear comfortable shoes that are suitable for walking. We encourage you to apply plenty of sunscreen and wear light, comfortable clothes plus a hat and sunglasses.
Please wear appropriate clothing when visiting religious sites. Information on dress code will be given during port talks and stated in your daily program.
Please find a set of coat hangers in your wardrobe. If you require any additional coat hangers, then please contact the reception (line 400).
Your cruise director is available to ensure that you enjoy every minute of your cruise. Please feel free to ask them if you have any questions or special requirements. They are also available to handle any issues that may arise during your time with us.
We offer a currency exchange service on board, available in US Dollars ($). For advice on accepted currencies and any additional information, please contact reception on 400. Your daily program will also include up-to-date exchange rates.
If you bring any goods into or out of a country, please observe all applicable customs regulations. If you have any questions, our reception team (line 400) will be happy to assist.
Every suite and stateroom is equipped with a complimentary reusable bottle of filtered water, which can be refilled at various water stations throughout your Star-Ship. Sparkling water is available on request.
The electricity current on board is 220 volts. Your cabin is equipped with universal power points in both your room and the bathroom. Please ask the reception (400) if you require any assistance.
On selected days before dinner, we welcome special guest performers in the Horizon Bar & Lounge and the Sun Deck.
Information regarding events on board, onshore and about the ports you’ll visit on your river cruise can be found in our daily programme. They will also be discussed during your daily port talks. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your cruise director.

A selection of cards and board games are available in the Library for you to enjoy. An open-air game of noughts and crosses and a putting green can be found on the Sun Deck. Golf clubs are available at the reception.
A hairdryer is provided for you in your cabin, to use throughout your cruise.
Your cabin will be serviced daily with a nightly turndown service. Should you have any special requests please contact the reception (line 400).
Wi-Fi access is available throughout the ship. Personal devices can be used, or you can request an iPad for temporary use at the reception to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
You’ll find the internet access code in your cabin when you embark. Should you require any assistance, please call the reception (line 400).
For technical reasons, the internet service may be interrupted during particular parts of the journey or while we pass through locks.
Our on board crew and tour guides speak English.
All announcements and lectures will be given in English, but if you speak another language, we will do everything in our power to assist with your requests.
An on-board laundry service is available for a fee (per item). You will find the order form in your wardrobe and housekeeping will collect this from your suite or stateroom.
You will find a clothes line in your bathroom to dry small items of washing. Please do not hang washed items over electrical appliances as this is a fire hazard. We also request that you don’t leave anything hanging from your balcony, at the risk of losing any personal items. We have authorized the crew to remove any items hanging anywhere other than the clothes line.
Visit the on board library, where you’ll find our collection of books that feature the Mekong and other Southeast Asia destinations.
Please contact the reception for any lost or found items (line 400). If you choose to leave behind any unwanted items, please inform your cabin attendant.
Once you have finished unpacking, your luggage can be conveniently stored underneath your bed.
Postcards and letters can be left at the reception to be posted at the next port and stamps are available to purchase. For further information, please see the ‘Internet/Email’ section of this ship directory.
You will find postcards (one per guest) that feature our Emerald Cruises Star-Ships in your folder. These postcards are complimentary; please feel free to use them.
The massage facilities are located in our Wellness Area on the Riviera Deck. You can make an appointment for a massage by contacting the reception (line 400). These services carry an additional cost.
If you are feeling unwell, please contact the reception (line 400). In the case of an emergency, we will call for medical assistance and request for qualified shore personnel to come on board and treat you. If required, transfer to a local clinic or hospital will be arranged immediately. Medical services will be provided for a fee. Please note that our crew is only able to offer first aid.
Please help us to assist you by handing in your completed Medical Information Form at the beginning of your cruise. Please rest assured that the information you provide will be handled with the highest confidentiality. All forms will be returned to you at the end of your cruise.
The minibar in your cabin will be restocked daily. Should you require any additional drinks in your suite or stateroom, please contact our housekeeping staff.
English language newspapers will be available free of charge in the lounge. If you would like an alternative newspaper, we will happily try to source it for a fee.
Our reception team is available for you 24 hours a day (line 400).
At the end of your cruise you can pay your account in cash or with a credit card (Visa/Mastercard).
On board our Emerald Cruises Star-Ships we provide tea and coffee services. These are located in the Horizon Lounge and in the Lotus Lounge (library), for you to enjoy at your convenience.
Our Reflections Restaurant provides an open seating plan. If you have any special requirements or are in need of any assistance, please see our food & beverage manager who will be happy to help. Please contact the reception on 400 for further information. For breakfast and lunch we offer a wonderful selection of hot and cold dishes. Dinners will be à la carte and your waiter will be on hand to assist with any requirements or questions you may have.
If you have any special dietary requirements, please inform our food & beverage manager or the chef, and our kitchen staff will personally prepare food for you. For opening times please see your daily program.
A safe is available in your cabin for all of your valuables. Instructions for use are provided or assistance is available via the reception (line 400).
Smoking is not permitted inside any cabins, on any private balconies or in any of the public areas on board.
A small designated area behind the Horizon Lounge is available for guests who require this facility. Please do not throw cigarette butts overboard.
For guests celebrating a special occasion whilst travelling with Emerald Cruises, we would be happy to prepare a special surprise. Please let us know in advance by contacting the reception (line 400).
On the Sun Deck we offer a large selection of seating for your comfort and enjoyment, but there is no need to reserve a chair in advance. This area houses a walking track for guests who are looking to keep active whilst enjoying the view. If you wish to jog or exercise on the Sun Deck, please refrain from doing so before 8am and after 10pm as it may disturb our guests staying in the suites below.
In some instances safety regulations require the Sun Deck to be closed whilst passing under bridges or at night.
Calls can be made from the reception and charges will be added to your ship account. If you require the telephone number for the ship, please contact the reception (line 400).
For your enjoyment, every cabin features a HDTV and Infotainment system. Please refer to the manual on your TV and/ or our service team for guidance on how to use your television. Reception may be interrupted during particular parts of the journey or while we pass through locks. Should you require any assistance, please contact the reception (line 400).
All gratuities and tipping are included with Emerald Cruises. However, if you wish to show your gratitude for the exceptional service that you experience with us, then you are welcome to do so at the reception at the end of your cruise.
