MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

First Steps

Union County First Steps’ mission is to connect families to the resources they need for their children to be safe, healthy and ready for school. Some of our recent accomplishments are Kindergarten Roundup, Kidsfest, and distributing kindergarten readiness kits throughout the county. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the contributions of the Union County School District, United Way of Piedmont, Union County Library System, and the continuous support of various community members.

We look forward to continue working with Union County families and partners as UCFS strives to accomplish our mission for the children in our community!

MESSAGE

FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

First Steps of Union County plays a leading role in our county in reaching preschool children and families. Their influence is felt in our local pediatrician’s office, kindergarten rooms, daycare centers, family homes, and community events. We have grown in many ways over the past year. We were happy to welcome a new executive director, Ms. Nicole Glenn. Under her leadership, our staff size has increased, our outreach efforts have increased, and our vision has expanded. Abraham Lincoln once said, “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” Our First Steps program is working hard to do just that. We are creating a future where all of our students enter kindergarten ready to learn.
