Examples of the SCGS IP Curriculum Sec 2 IP Language Arts Class Activity: Romeo and Juliet Social Media Profiles This Language Arts class activity capitalises on students' familiarity with social media to allow them to show and share their understanding of their Literature text, Romeo and Juliet.


Examples of the SCGS IP Curriculum Sec 3 IP Physics Performance Task: Designing an Airpowered Rocket Students get to apply their knowledge in an authentic situation. In this task they need to apply physics principles such as Conversion of Energy and Pressure to construct an Air-powered Rocket.

Creative Response to The Joy Luck Club (Sec 3 IP)

Dramatisation of a Play (Sec 4 IP) Literature texts such as The Joy Luck Club are brought to live through performance tasks where students explore their creativity. The dramatisation of a student-chosen play in Sec 4, for instance, was very well-received.

The Joint Integrated Programme WRP framework represents the spiral curriculum students experience in the WRP from Secondary to JC. The SCGS WRP modules infuse the three strands of Current Affairs, Philosophy and Emerging Asia into our curriculum in relevant and authentic ways.

World Readiness Programme As a dual track school, SCGS offers IP students dedicated WRP modules, while school-wide learning experiences are open to students in both IP and OLP tracks.

The SCGS Experience


In the Joint Integrated Programme Passion Pursuit of the Diverge, Converge and Emerge journey, SCGS provides an extensive range of learning experiences through Platforms of Exploration and Platforms of Pursuit. While providing breadth in the Diverge phase, the activities spiral from short exploratory enrichment such as Sabbaticals to extended course of study in the SCGS Academies. As JIP students progress to EJC, they learn more about their passion through the Converge and Emerge phases, driven by a zest for life and the aspiration to impact the community in positive and meaningful ways.

SCGS IP Academies The Business Academy inspires the spirit of innovation and enterprise by imparting core knowledge on business principles and innovation protocol. Students, coached by business leaders from the real business world, apply their business acumen and entrepreneurial skills for positive social impact. Students have opportunities to visit various enterprises and engage in dialogue with businessmen and entrepreneurs.

Business Academy The Math and Science Academy addresses the intellectual spirit of those with brilliant aptitude and keen interest in the Sciences and Mathematics. The Academy provides a diversity of learning opportunities which includes Mentorship, Attachments and Advanced Elective Modules in related fields such as Medical Physics, Advanced Mathematics and Bioethics.

SCGS IP Academies The Liberal Arts Academy promotes the pursuit of disciplines such as the humanities and social sciences, enabling students to perceive the interconnectedness of knowledge, challenge assumptions and navigate the world of shifting borders and complex challenges. Students get to hone their academic writing skills through workshops by practitioners.

Liberal Arts Academy The Leadership Academy is dedicated to nurturing women leaders of character and relevance, the cornerstone of the SCGS education. The Academy leverages its vast network of former students from different fields to offer a myriad of leadership development opportunities including personal mentoring by accomplished leaders, where students are inspired to be world-ready leaders with empathy for humanity.

Passion Pursuit As a dual track school, SCGS offers IP students dedicated PP modules, while school-wide learning experiences are open to students in both IP and OLP tracks. At the more advanced levels, Research Studies and Overseas Study trips are differentiated by students’ interests and passion areas.
