Class of 2020

The Class of 2020, graduating class with 40 students, has been awarded over $5.5 million in merit based college scholarships.

The seniors applied to 128 colleges and were accepted to 96 of the best colleges and universities from coast to coast including Brown University, Duke University, Purdue University, Stanford University, Texas A&M University, University of Texas at Austin, University of California Berkley, UCLA, University of Georgia and United States Air Force Academy.

In the Class of 2020 there are 22 Alpha and Omega students - those who have attended All Saints since the 1st grade or before.

In the last 19 years, 79 students have been named National Merit Scholars and this year, 7 students (18% of the Class of 2020) were National Merit Scholars.


Academic S UCCES S E S

Upper School •

The Debate Team continues to flourish with 10 students qualifying to Nationals and 7 students earning Academic All-American Award (putting them in the top 2% of debaters in the U.S.). The team competed at Stanford University where students placed, and 1 student qualified and competed in congressional debate in the Tournament of Champions. The beginning debate class is exceptionally strong, with 4 of them qualifying to Nationals.

The broadcast class had 3,407 video views on Fusfoo with 79% of All Saints videos posted being nationally recognized on Fusfoo.

Seniors completed 9 capstone experiences this year, and students have developed partnerships with 67 community organizations in the last 2 years.

Copper Roof Media (our student-run marketing agency - www.copperroofmedia.com) served 23 delighted clients, producing quality work for each and every client.

24 blended learning classes were taken by students, collaborating with 5 different blended learning partners.

In the East Texas State Fair Academic Rodeo, All Saints finished 3rd place overall in the high school level Academic Challenge Quiz. In the Pentathlon, Gabby Lea won 1st in physics and 3rd in chemistry. Madi Brazeal won a scholarship from the East Texas State Fair Foundation.

The Makers on a Mission club created and delivered 4 bubble tubes for students with sensory needs to a local family of a boy with autism, one to the Treatment and Learning Center, and two went to Children’s Village.

Middle School •

76 students qualified for The Duke University Talent Identification (TIP) Program, which identifies academically talented students and gives them opportunities to study and grow at various Duke University programs.

The 21st Century Leadership Class designed and built The Great Day Garden - a river of stones on campus with inspiring messages and words of kindness to brighten the day of others.


Fuel Up To Play 60, a leading in-school health and wellness program, began this year at All Saints. Beckett Long was awarded the Fuel Up To Play 60 - Student Ambassador Award. Beckett Long and Garrett Trant won the Super Sleep Contest through the Fuel Up To Play 60 program.

Marigny Teagarden and Colten Mitcham were awarded The Rotary Young Citizens Award.

Lower School •

3 Odyssey of the Mind teams won 1st place at Regionals, with 1 team advancing to compete in Odyssey of the Mind Virtual Worlds.

One 3rd grader qualified as a writing finalist in PSIA.

All Saints Episcopal School tops both the Novice and Amateur East Texas Scholastic Chess Tournament for this school year.

In the East Texas State Fair Academic Rodeo, our students won 1st and 2nd place in 3rd grade spelling bee. All Saints finished 3rd place in the 2nd grade spelling bee and 1st place in the 3rd grade chemistry Science Fair.

2nd graders sold over 100 dozen eggs from the Learning Farm this year.

All School •

From March through May, our school held over 2,300 Google Meets and Zoom calls, added 44,695 files to Google Drive and sent 710,539 emails.


Fine Art S UCCES S E S

In VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event) Regional Competition students received: 45 gold medals; in State Gold Advance we received 2 golds, in Exemplary we received 1 medal, in Superior we received 1 medal.

Drumline finished 4th place at the TAPPS State Competition.

One Act Play finished as the TAPPS district runners-up.

All Saints has competed at State TAPPS One Act Play 2 out of the last 3 years.

2 actors received All Star Cast awards at TAPPS One Act Play State Competition.

5 actors received All Star Awards at TAPPS One Act Play District Competition.

In the TAPPS Fall Photo Contest students received 3 state first place, 2 state second place, and 1 honorable mention.

In the TAPPS Art History Contest students finished in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places.

We have 40 State TAPPS instrumentalists and vocalists.

3 singers were selected to the TPSMEA All Region Choir.

One singer was selected as a TMEA Area Finalist.

4 singers were selected to the TMEA All Region Choir.

36 acts auditioned and performed in All Saints LIVE, our annual talent show put on by FAME, our fine arts booster club.

5th grade students partake in a fine arts rotation, receiving maximum exposure to different types of fine arts at a crucial time in their development.




Athletic S UCCES S E S

40 student-athletes received academic all state honors.

33 student-athletes received all district honors and 6 were named all state during the fall and winter seasons.

Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, and Volleyball participated in the area playoffs.

Boys Soccer advanced to the regional championship.

7th–8th grade volleyball and girls basketball won TAPSAC conference championships.

5 All Saints athletes received the Trinity Mother Frances Orthopedics Athlete of the Week honors.

Football had the winningest season in school history.

Russell Wynne was awarded the Best Preps Tyler Student-Athlete of the Year.

Alex Elfarr was awarded the Best Preps Tyler Student-Athlete of the Year for Golf.

Zane Harrison was awarded the Best Preps Tyler Student-Athlete of the Year for Cross Country.

Dustyn Rose was awarded the Best Preps Tyler Student-Athlete of the Year for Powerlifting.

Ryu Martinez was awarded the Best Preps Tyler Student-Athlete of the Year for Swimming.

Our Upper School student-athletes run a weekly after-school PE program for Promise Academy.

Early Learning and Lower School students attend daily PE classes, participating in our Long Term Athletic Development program (LTAD), preparing them for athletics from playground to podium.

20 student-athletes have signed to play at the collegiate level over the past 5 years.


Spiritual S UCCES S E S

200 students led worship during the 75 chapel services held in the 2019-2020 school year.

Each week we pray for more than 20 specific All Saints families. Every All Saints family is prayed for once during the school year.

We conducted 9 weeks (18 eChapel services) during the fourth quarter of the school year.

The Middle School and Upper School Chapels had 6 guest speakers including homilies given by two members of the senior class. We were also blessed to have the Anglican Bishop of South Malawi Africa as a guest speaker.

For 15 years, Upper School students and faculty have traveled across the nation working with various organizations for our summer mission trip.

23 Upper School students served 300 hours at 5 mission sites in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the 2019 Mission Trip.

Upper School students have completed over 13,000 community service hours over the last 4 years.

Middle School collected 606 pounds of food and cash donations which equaled a total of 665 meals during our Beat Hunger Week benefiting The East Texas Food Bank.

6th Grade students packed 750 boxes of food for the East Texas Food Bank Senior Box Program: providing over 19,000 meals through the program with our students’ help.

All students participate in Faith Formation and/or Theology classes every year as a part of their spiritual growth.

During April and May the Garden of Eat’n served over 250 meals to families in our community. Over the past 3 months in Spring 2020 All Saints makerspaces have produced more than 1,000 cotton masks, over 200 N95 masks and 150 face shields for medical teams across the country.
