Schaumburg Park Foundation supports the mission of the Schaumburg Park District by raising funds at events and through direct donations. Funds are used primarily to support Schaumburg Park District’s recreation scholarship program which provides funds for family memberships, programs and events to those who might not otherwise have the financial ability to participate in District activities. The Foundation also supports community-based projects such as the renovation of the museum at Spring Valley Nature Center. For additional information on the Foundation or scholarships, visit SchaumburgParkFoundation.org, or call 847-985-2115.
Northwest Special Recreation Association Providing Recreation Services to Individuals with Special Needs
Schaumburg Park District is proud to be a member of the Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). Throughout the northwest suburbs, NWSRA is the leader in providing outstanding recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. NWSRA’s team of full-time therapeutic recreation professionals and trained part-time staff offer a multitude of year-round program offerings including sports, camping, social programs and more. Having fun, being included, making friends, learning new things and going to new places are just a few of the benefits of NWSRA programs! Inclusion assistance is provided by NWSRA to those individuals who wish to participate in their home park district program. When registering, the parent of an individual with a disability should inform the Park District (and NWSRA, if desired) of any accommodation needed in order for the individual to successfully participate in the program. Park District staff will contact NWSRA for assistance with the accommodation. Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF), the fundraising arm of NWSRA, partners with public and private corporations, foundations and individuals to support and promote outstanding recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. Throughout the year, the organization hosts a variety of fundraising events that help support accessible transportation, general programs, inclusion opportunities, the Kevin T. Kendrigan Memorial Scholarship program and NWSRA Lightning Athletes. For more information on NWSRA, brochures may be picked up at Schaumburg Park District facilities or at the NWSRA office at Park Central, 3000 W. Central Road in Rolling Meadows. NWSRA may be contacted at 847-392-2848 (voice), 392-2855 (TTY) or 392-2870 (fax). Check out NWSRA and SLSF at NWSRA.org or Facebook.com/NWSRA.

Schaumburg Park District invites residents and civic groups to take part in its AdoptA-Park program. Show community pride and civic responsibility by acting as the eyes and ears of the Park District. A sign with the adopting resident’s or civic group’s name will be displayed at the park. In return, your group will keep the Park District informed of any problems at the park and initiate beautification efforts, including planting flowers and picking up litter. There is no adoption fee. A number of parks are available for adoption. For information, call the director of parks and planning at 847-985-2115.

Schaumburg Park District is committed to the conservation of habitats for native plants and wildlife. Monarch Waystations have been established in several parks as demonstrations of this commitment and a way to help the community reconnect with nature. Each fall, hundreds of millions of monarch butterflies migrate from the United States and Canada to Mexico. The monarch migration is truly one of the world's greatest natural wonders, yet it is threatened by habitat loss in Mexico and throughout the spring and summer breeding range in North America. Monarch Waystations are places that provide resources necessary for monarchs to produce successive generations and sustain their migration.

Bravo Music Academy
Our knowledgeable and experienced instructors will customize lessons to the student’s skill and experience level whether they are a beginner or an advanced musician. Instructors will provide a pleasant atmosphere for learning and encourage a feeling of success at each student’s individual rate of learning in group and private lessons. Private lessons are scheduled once a week for 30, 45 or 60 minutes of one-on-one instruction either on-site in our private music studios or online through Zoom classes for students ages 8 to adult for woodwinds (clarinet, flute and saxophone), strings (violin, viola, bass and guitar), drums and voice. Group Lessons are available for piano or guitar for ages 3-adult. Instructors will communicate students’ progress throughout their session. For private lessons, fees must be paid to reserve space with instructor. Once fee is paid an instructor will contact the student to set up lessons. The day and time selected for the lessons will be held by the instructor, even if the student is absent. Please note that no credits or refunds are given for missed lessons by the student and fees remain consistent regardless of the number of lessons attended. Students must have their own instrument for lessons except for on-site piano or drum lessons. However, piano students should have a piano or keyboard at home for practice. Practice time is so important because when a student practices they develop muscle memory. If the only time a student touches their instrument is during a lesson, their muscles will have trouble remembering what they learned previously and the student won’t make much progress. Consistent lessons, practice and performance opportunities contribute to musical growth.

WELCOME BACK! GREAT NEWS! Fitness centers are now open under strict safety guidelines. To keep our members safe, the following changes have been made: Social Distancing We have spaced out fitness equipment and reduced cardio machine availability throughout our facilities to allow for social distancing while working out. Members must wear face coverings over their nose and mouth whenever not exercising (exceptions will be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering). Reservation System Due to capacity restrictions, fitness members will be able to reserve one-hour time slots. Reservations may only be booked 48 hours in advance either online or by calling 847-490-2505 (CRC), 847-884-0678 (STP), or 847-985-2144 (MRC). In order to keep accurate track of who is in the building and allow staff time to clean equipment between reservation blocks, fitness center doors will be locked until ten minutes prior to reservation times. Limited Locker Room Access Locker rooms will be available for changing only. Lockers, showers, sauna/steam room and towels will not be available. Fitness Unlimited and Fitness Unlimited Plus A modified group exercise schedule will begin after Labor Day. The schedule will be published at parkfun.com. Reservations will be required and can be made on the fitness schedule or via the GroupEx Pro app. Class formats will be determined by past attendance, equipment needs and the ability to sanitize equipment. There will be a mixture of classes at CRC, MRC, and limited class options at STP. Our instructors are anxious to get back in the studio. We are looking forward to helping you maintain momentum on your fitness/wellness journey. Call 847-490-7015 for additional information.
