Schaumburg Park Foundation supports the mission of the Schaumburg Park District by raising funds at events and through direct donations. Funds are used primarily to support Schaumburg Park District’s recreation scholarship program which provides funds for family memberships, programs and events to those who might not otherwise have the financial ability to participate in District activities. Northwest Special Recreation Association Providing Recreation Services to Individuals with Special Needs
Schaumburg Park District is proud to be a member of the Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). Throughout the northwest suburbs, NWSRA is the leader in providing outstanding recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. NWSRA’s team of full-time therapeutic recreation professionals and trained part-time staff offer a multitude of year-round program offerings including sports, camping, social programs and more. Having fun, being included, making friends, learning new things and going to new places are just a few of the benefits of NWSRA programs! Inclusion assistance is provided by NWSRA to those individuals who wish to participate in their home park district program. When registering, the parent of an individual with a disability should inform the Park District (and NWSRA, if desired) of any accommodation needed in order for the individual to successfully participate in the program. Park District staff will contact NWSRA for assistance with the accommodation. Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF), the fundraising arm of NWSRA, partners with public and private corporations, foundations and individuals to support and promote outstanding recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. Throughout the year, the organization hosts a variety of fundraising events that help support accessible transportation, general programs, inclusion opportunities, the Kevin T. Kendrigan Memorial Scholarship program and NWSRA Lightning Athletes. For more information on NWSRA, brochures may be picked up at Schaumburg Park District facilities or at the NWSRA office at Park Central, 3000 W. Central Road in Rolling Meadows. NWSRA may be contacted at 847-392-2848 (voice), 392-2855 (TTY) or 392-2870 (fax). Check out NWSRA and SLSF at NWSRA.org or Facebook.com/NWSRA.

A sign with the adopting resident’s or civic group’s name will be displayed at the park. In return, your group will keep the Park District informed of any problems at the park and initiate beautification efforts, including planting flowers and picking up litter. There is no adoption fee. A number of parks are available for adoption. For information, call the director of parks and planning at 847-985-2115.

Schaumburg Park District is committed to the conservation of habitats for native plants and wildlife. Monarch Waystations have been established in several parks as demonstrations of this commitment and a way to help the community reconnect with nature. Each fall, hundreds of millions of monarch butterflies migrate from the United States and Canada to Mexico. The monarch migration is truly one of the world's greatest natural wonders, yet it is threatened by habitat loss in Mexico and throughout the spring and summer breeding range in North America. Monarch Waystations are places that provide resources necessary for monarchs to produce successive generations and sustain their migration.

Bravo Music Academy
Our knowledgeable and experienced instructors will customize lessons to the student’s skill and experience level whether they are a beginner or an advanced musician. Instructors will provide a pleasant atmosphere for learning and encourage a feeling of success at each student’s individual rate of learning in group and private lessons. Private lessons are scheduled once a week for 30, 45 or 60 minutes of one-on-one instruction either on-site in our private music studios or online through Zoom classes for students ages 8 to adult for woodwinds (clarinet, flute and saxophone), strings (violin, viola, bass and guitar), drums and voice. Group lessons are available for piano or guitar for ages 3 to adult. Instructors will communicate students’ progress throughout their session. For private lessons, fees must be paid to reserve space with the instructor. Once fee is paid, an instructor will contact the student to set up lessons. The day and time selected for the lessons will be held by the instructor, even if the student is absent. Please note that no credits or refunds are given for missed lessons by the student and fees remain consistent regardless of the number of lessons attended. Students must have their own instrument for lessons except for on-site piano or drum lessons. However, piano students should have a piano or keyboard at home for practice. Practice time is so important because when a student practices they develop muscle memory. If the only time a student touches their instrument is during a lesson, their muscles will have trouble remembering what they learned previously and the student won’t make much progress. Consistent lessons, practice and performance opportunities contribute to musical growth.

GENERAL
Take your students on a virtual field trip to Spring Valley this fall and winter – the next best thing to being there! Our program offers a combination of pre-recorded videos and live activities that highlight the beauty of our local natural areas in any season. Each grade level video (K-2, 3-6, and 6-8) will focus on a different theme. The classroom activities can be done outdoors at school as a group (yes, we will come to you) or individually in the classroom (or at home) through a scheduled Zoom meeting. At the end of the virtual field trip, students will be given a take-home extension activity that will earn them a prize upon completion. In addition to the nature and science-themed offerings, a program that explores the immigrant experience from a historical perspective will also be available. Call (847) 985-2100 for more details.

For full refund, less $3 service charge, withdrawal forms must be received 24 hours prior to first day of class. 4. If the class has begun, a prorated amount will be determined based on the date of refund application. Requests will be honored until the last class date of the session. 5. Trip refunds, less the service charge, are furnished only when someone is found to take your place. 6. Refunds will remain on account unless requested otherwise. 7.
