the company
At Schneid Lighting & Furniture we focus on creating expressive and sustainable products for interior spaces. The wide open spaces of our studios are located in the building of a former shipyard in Lübeck, North Germany. This historical neighbourhood also accommodates our workshop, where still some of our products are handmade by us. Our proximity to Scandinavia combined with the industrial charm of our location inspires us to new designs and helps us to bringing them to life.

Having ‚Schneid‘ is the german equivalent to ‚being bold‘, which is what puts the essence of our philosophy in a nutshell: By looking for unconventional ideas as well as reliable techniques and combining them with our core values of an ecological approach, we find design solutions that leave the beaten track. Schneid Lighting & Furniture strives for enduring and elegant products which are mindful and meet the modern Zeitgeist in a courageous way. Using natural raw materials, striking colors and bold shapes we create mood and atmosphere. We believe in sustainability and are dedicated to solid craftsmanship. This is why we support local manufacturers, keeping delivery routes short and work together with people who are practicing their jobs with passion, just as we do. With this lookbook we give you an insight to our product range, including our classics and newest projects. We are sure you will find inspiration on the following pages we created for you. kaskad lighting Kaskad embodies pure aesthetics and a strong visual expression. Made of ceramic in light tones, each pendant lamp is hand manufactured by our ceramic master craftsman in a small traditional workshop in Germany. His exceptional skill and more than 10 individual processes are required to perfect Kaskad with its fine matt glaze. The lamp comes in three extraordinary and stunning color choices: ‚Soft mint‘, ‚Blush‘, and ‚Midnight blue‘. Ma t e r i a l : Ce r a m i c

eikon lighting Eikon is made of certified wood and a lampshade that is attached simply with the help of magnets. The wooden socket of the lamp constitutes the minimalist and clean base of the lamp. The lampshade, made of steel or silicone and available in two different sizes, forms a perfect contrast with its vibrant colors or with its elegant and reflecting surface. With the magnetic connecting system, the lampshade can be changed with little effort for another color, shape or material which can be easily attached to the wooden base. junit lighting The Junit light is a modular pendant lamp that consists of eight different elements. The parts are turned from high-quality ash wood and painted in a german workshop, not far from our own studio. The elements of the Junit series come in a natural, clear finish and each in different colors. The bulb complements the colorful lamp with its oversized, milky glass which produces warm, ambient light. z a pp y l i g h t i n g Zappy stands out with its soft and inviting glow. The carefully handmade lamp of ash or oak veneer illuminates any indoor space with sublime light quality. With its delicate wooden panels and the detailed natural design, it impresses as a beautiful lighting object and will be a focal point in any room. While the ash veneer is characterized by a brighter tone and a higher light output, the oak veneer in a natural finish or smoked oak version in black has lots of impact since it appears darker and displays the strong natural structure of the wood. s e r i e a - V O L UM , P IRUM , SECUNDUM Volum, Pirum and Secundum: Three lamps that stand for naturally warm light. Despite the organic form the ‚Series A‘ has a graphic and clear line. All three lights are constructed by the same principles and yet every lamp still stands out with its own special design and character. woodpecker Woodpecker merges tradition and innovation in a clear and reduced form, appearing as a simple line which extends into the room. The light can be positioned in every direction and is hand built by local craftsmen using sustainable materials wherever possible. unison Ceramic set The Unison set is a ceramic tableware collection with seven different pieces. It consists of a coffee pot, big and small plate, soup bowl, sugar bowl, cup and a universal fitting lid. The ceramic is dyed with pigments and available in five special colors, all mixed by hand in a local workshop. Only the inside of the pieces are glazed; the outer surface is untreated and raw. All parts of the collection are stackable and fit into each other. hazy blanket The Hazy blanket is a woven black and white watercolor that is reminiscent of a landscape or a rugged coast. Fafa is handmade in a local workshop using traditional techniques to manufacture the angled legs and the round or square table top. Fil clothing rack Fil is a grand place for your carefully selected clothing that usually will be forgotten in your wardrobe after time. Made of high quality brass or colored steel, the clothing rack is grounded with a white Carrara marble stone or patterned terrazzo stone.
