• Jabiru means swollen neck • They can grow to be about 4 feet tall • They use different calls and head movements to communicate with each other • The different between male and female is that they females will have yellow eyes This bird with a giant neck can be found in areas around South America to Argentina. They are most commonly seen in the wetlands where they will primarily hunt prey in the water. Their diet consist of aquatic animals such as fish, and semi aquatic animals like lizards. They have also been reported to scavenge from dead animals. These birds are social creatures so they are mostly seen in big groups that will hunt together.
