Steve Irwin was born in Melbourne, Australia 1962 to parents who were very passionate about wildlife. So passionate that they opened their own wildlife park in Queensland, Australia not long after Steve’s birth. Whether it be climbing trees, exploring creeks, picking up animals on the side of the road or, wrestling crocs Steve was always on the hunt for whatever wildlife he could get his hands on. With increasing crocodile attacks occurring, Steve and his dad joined an organization to help with the capture and relocation of crocodiles. Steve just kind of took to hunting crocodiles like well a crocodile to water. Steve would be tracking and pursuing these crocodiles all alone in the bush for long periods of time by his late teenage years. Steve trapped and relocated many a crocodile’s, even ones that where infamous to the people in the community. From this point on Steve’s love and drive from hunting crocs and for wildlife only increased.

Steve gained control of his parent’s park in 1991 with big dreams to make it of the best Wildlife Park in the world. Steve eventually met the love of his life a veterinarian from the US, Terri. They soon married and began their TV series The Crocodile Hunter. The series went on for many years following Steve, Terri and their two kids’ lives as they traveled all over the world adventuring and teaching world about the beauty of wildlife and conservation. Unfortunately, in 2006 Steve was fatally injured by a stingray while snorkeling along the Great Barrier Reef.
