Our ref: SA/gh 4th June 2014 Dear Parents/Carers As we begin the final half term of the academic year and look forward to the summer break, I would like to give you some information regarding the arrangements for the end of this term and the beginning of the next. I would like to thank you for your continued support in all that we have done this year to move our school forwards and provide the very best education for all our students. The students and staff have worked very hard and our full support and best wishes go to those students who are now sitting their final external examinations. We look forward to seeing them all on the results days (Thursday 14 th August for Post 16 and Thursday 21st August for years 10 & 11), where members of staff will be on hand to offer congratulations and advice on progression routes into higher and further education, employment or training. Having guided and supported the students for the best part of 5 years for some and 7 for others, I am sure you will appreciate that our interest in these members of our school family doesn’t just end when they get their results envelope! This has been an incredibly busy term, with many activities and events taking place. To help you plan, please see a list below of future events in school, which I hope you will be able to support. You will also see below the dates for finishing this term and starting again in the Autumn Term. Please note that school resumes for the Autumn Term on Thursday 4 th September for all year groups with a prompt 8.40 am start. I would once again ask for your support in ensuring that your child returns to school wearing the correct uniform, i.e. official badged uniform that has been purchased from one of the approved suppliers. I would also respectfully remind you that facial piercings, make up and extremes of hairstyle are not permitted. Yours sincerely
