The learning in this unit enables children to develop spiritual, moral and religious values and is concerned with how religious knowledge, concepts, skills and attitudes, are integrated with the personal development and spiritual life of the child. It takes seriously the pupils’ own context in the world in which they are growing up, and the necessity for structuring a programme of teaching and learning which takes account of their developing awareness, attitudes and abilities.
