Year 4 Autumn A Curriculum News The first half of the autumn term is set to be a busy one for everyone in Year 4, it’s a new year in a new class and it is set to filled with lots of exciting challenges and learning lots of new facts and skills. Numeracy Over the half term, we will be covering:  Place Value, Counting and Calculating  Number Facts and Shape  Handling Data and Measures  Written Methods for Addition and Subtraction

Literacy Over the half term, the children will be covering:

A weekly focus will be given to ‘Using & Applying’ the children’s new and developed skills into different areas of the curriculum.

Children will also be given the opportunity to write in a range of styles across the curriculum.

Please help your child to learn their multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12.

Please read with your child every night and complete your child’s Reading Log.

   

Phonics & Spelling Fiction: Dilemma Story Non-Fiction: Information Texts Phonics and Spellings

Water Bottle Water bottles are encouraged to ensure that children are kept hydrated throughout the school day. Please ensure the water bottles are taken home and washed on a daily basis.

PE Timetable PE for the year is timetabled for THURSDAY afternoon. It is advisable for children to keep their kit in school all week, in case we get an additional opportunity

Targets Targets are given on both a group and individual basis – these targets have been written with your child and are in an area which they need to improve and continue their learning and achievement. If you have any questions or queries, or your child is worried about anything – please arrange to come and see me at the beginning or the end of the school day.
