School Update

5th September 2014

Welcome Back!!!! We hope you are all feeling refreshed after the long summer holidays. Mr Watson would like to thank all the parents and children for their unconditional support and kindness during the recent months. On Friday 12th September, from 8.30am until 9.00am, there will be an opportunity for all parents/carers to come into school to meet their child’s new class teacher / support staff and have a look around your child’s new classroom. Clubs Letters for this year’s extra-curricular clubs have been sent home with your child. Clubs have been very popular with the children this year, so a lot of the clubs are full. We have put the children in to clubs the fairest way we could, on a first come first served basis. If your child has requested a club they have not got a place in immediately, please be assured they are on the waiting list and we will notify you if a place becomes available. In order that every child has the opportunity of attending a club it may be necessary to review clubs termly. Clubs will start next week (Monday 8th September.) KS2 Dinner Money & School Meals If you have yet to pay your child’s dinner money, please add this onto the amount due on Monday. Dinner money has remained at £6.25 per week (£1.25 per day). Should you wish to pay for meals for the term up until Thursday 23rd October, the amount due is £43.75. Any cheques are payable Ladybridge Primary School. KS1 Universal Free School Meals KS1children are now entitled to Universal free school meals, if you are not taking advantage of these and would like to, or you would like more information, please speak to the school office. Parents of pupils who are eligible for statutory free school meals should continue to claim in the normal way – call 01204 331590 or visit the website at www.bolton.gov.uk for more information. Please note that your child receives extra funding (called Pupil Premium Grant) for educational needs if they are registered as receiving statutory free school meals. Therefore, we urge all parents to claim this allowance if you think that you are entitled to it. This includes parents in KS1 whose child is taking universal infant free school meals and meets the requirements for statutory free school meals. School will still be entitled to extra funding for your child but will not receive it unless you claim for it. Bolton Music Service – New for September 2014 Bolton Music Service came in to school on Thursday morning and performed a fantastic live music set for the children, showcasing the different instruments that they teach. If your child would like to sing or play a musical instrument or continue with lessons in school provided by Bolton Music Service, they must now be booked online. To register your child for weekly music lessons please go to www.gmmusichub.co.uk/bolton/book_lessons. Applications must be received by 26th September to start September 2014.
