LAYTON PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 19th September 2014 Issue 3
Mr Jonathan Clucas! Headteacher
It is great to see how well our new chef is settling in and taste how he is bringing his culinary skills to our thriving and busy school. Mr Millichamp has a wealth of cheffing experience, including catering for banquets. With over 70 extra children now taking the universal free school meals it is no easy task catering for 350+ children every school day! The new playground equipment on the KS2 playground is being used daily and the children are getting an awful lot out of it. Key Stage 1 and 2 children have a variety of playground games to use. I would like to ask you to join with us in pointing out the importance of using this equipment properly to the children.

Before the summer, many of our children at After School Club entered the ‘Young Writers National Poetry Competition” and, on our return to school, we were thrilled to discover the following children were not only prizewinners, but are also about to become Published Poets!:Ethan, Ben, Katie, Daniel, Caitlin B, Daniel, Lewis, Harvey, Paige, Miles, Jack, Olivia, Caitlin N, Molly, Rosie, Olivia, Chloe, Liam, Sean, Jason, Rebecca Sophie and Aiden!
! Caitlin B would like to share her poem entitled ‘My Funny Dog Zeus’ with you. ! My dog Zeus is very, very funny, If he was a comedian, he would earn loads of money. He has a big scar on his right eye But it doesn’t make hime shy. He eats his food dead fast And he doesn’t ever make it last. If you take him on a walk, He acts like a right dork! I love my Zeus More than chocolate mousse! He will never be a fool Because he is a really big tool.
