‘Owling Around’ As part of ‘Owling Around’ topic, the Owls class had a visit from Cuerden Birds of Prey on Monday. This gave the children a fantastic opportunity to impress our visitors with their knowledge nuggets of owls and learn even more!! We were introduced to all the Owls and even an American Hawk (who tried to make a quick escape at the end of the afternoon). We put on our ‘binoculars’ to try and imagine how owls really see and learnt that not all owls are nocturnal! We even learnt that ‘crepuscular’ means owls which are awake at dawn and dusk! We are expecting another visit from Cuerden Birds of Prey before the half term is over where we will be lucky enough to hold the owls and see their eggs! It’s a very exciting time for the Owls class!

High ‘5’ Netball Match Report On Tuesday 30th September 8 children took part in the first round of the West Lancashire School Sports Partnership High ‘5’ Netball Tournament, held at Glenburn Sports College. The children played in 4 matches, winning 2 and drawing 2. They beat St. Richards 5-0, Little Digmoor 1-0, drew 1-1 with Trinity and drew 0-0 with St. Johns. All the children played very well and represented Bishop Martin fantastically. Listed below are the children that played: Koby-Jack, Paige, Keelen, Phillip, Millie, Caitlin, Molly and Rhiannon.
