What Will The School Do To Help?
Why do you come to school?
Every half term the school will send parents an update on their child’s attendance in the form of a RAG (Red, Amber, Green) letter. Attendance above 95%

Attendance 85-95% Attendance Below 85% (and in danger of being a persistent absentee)

“To learn to read and write.” “To make new friends.” “So I can get a job when I’m older.” “My mum makes me.”

“We learn lots of cool stuff.” Why don’t you come to school?
Attendance for ALL pupils is expected to be above 95% (Green level). The Family Support Worker closely monitors those children who fall below this percentage and may contact you if your child is consistently Amber or Red. What Can You Do To Help? If your child feels slightly unwell please
send them to school. They often feel better once they’re here. The school will call you if your child is unwell and needs to go home. A late mark is better than an absent mark. If you are experiencing difficulties
getting your child into school, for whatever reason, please contact us. We are here to help.
“It’s boring!”
“I was tired.” “I don’t like my teacher.” “The work is hard.”
A Guide For Parents On School Attendance
“I had an argument with my friend.” “I had a headache.” What happens when you don’t come to school? “I feel embarrassed because I don’t know what’s going on.” “My friend finds someone else to play with.”
Missing school means missing out!
“My work isn’t finished so it doesn’t get displayed.” “I don’t get chosen to do things.”
