How to support your child’s learning at home To help your child further in their education, they must be doing the following activities at home.
They must read for 10 minutes each night to an adult. The adult must then fill in their reading journal. Practice times tables. By the end of year 3 your child should know their 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 times tables off by heart. Each child has a home school journal. These must be signed by an adult each week and be in school every day.
To promote independence year 3 children are required to enter school by themselves. If as a parent you wish to speak to a teacher they are always available at the end of the school day.
Don’t forget PE! PE kits should be in school every day.
