St Michael’s CE Junior School (Controlled) ICT Code of Practice & Home/School Agreement for Pupils & Parents The school recognise the important role that ICT Plays in children’s learning and development, both within the school and via the Wizkid VLE. These rules are designed to keep everyone safe and will ensure that we are all responsible users of ICT In order to be a responsible user of ICT I will: • Only access the system with my own login and/or wizkid password, which I will keep secret. • Make sure that any messages I send are polite and responsible, using appropriate language. • Report any unpleasant material or messages sent to me. • Ask permission from a member of staff or my parents before using the internet • Only e-mail people I know or my teacher has approved. (This applies to school email and Wizkid). • Inform an adult if another pupil has been viewing unsuitable material on the web. I will not: • Give out my home address or telephone number or arrange to meet someone. • Put personal information about myself, including my date of birth or photographs, on the internet. • Give my password(s) to anyone else. • Download or open up pop-ups or any other programme on the school ICT system. • Open e-mails sent by someone I don’t know. • Bring in Software, USBs/CDs into school without permission. • Access other people’s files without permission. • Access any website that has not been authorised by the teacher. • Use bad language or write unacceptable comments about other children or staff. I understand that the school will • Check my school computer files/wizkid account as and when necessary. • Monitor my messages if complaints of unacceptable language/content have been received. • Withdraw my Wizkid access and/or ban me from using the internet at school if I break this agreement. • Ask my parents to come into school for a meeting if I have broken this agreement before my access is given back to me.
