Unity Academy Blackpool Health and Safety Policy 2014-2015 Introduction The legal requirement for a written safety policy is contained in Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 which states – "except in such cases as may be prescribed (fewer than 5 employees) it shall be the duty of every employer to prepare and as often as may be appropriate revise a written statement of his general policy with respect to the health and safety at work of his employees and the organisation and arrangements for the time being in force for carrying out the policy and to bring the statement and any revision of it to the notice of all his employees.� Fylde Coast Academy Trust is the employer. On behalf of the Academy, the Academy Trust is responsible for the use of the premises. The Principal is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and management of health, safety and welfare within the academy. The Academy Trust and the Principal should work in partnership to meet these responsibilities. All Data, Policies, and Acts of Law are stored on G Drive
